Visual disturbances

I am experiencing what I call the "lace curtain" problem.  My vision is obscured as though I'm looking through
lace curtains held by two old ladies and they are shaking them.  I am EXTREMELY sensitive to light.  So far, niether my opthalomalogists or retinal specialists have solved the puzzle.  I am wondering, aloud, if there is any evidence of problems of this kind as a result of cataract surgery or the implants, which I had in both eyes 4 or 5 years ago?

Your thoughts would be very welcome.

I would want to start with careful autorefraction, manual refraction, corneal topography, examination of the tear film, corneal surface, IOL, vitreous, and careful retinal evaluation.  I would be be especially looking for corneal surface problems maybe a very poor tear film or lid margin disease, and of course a for any problem with the IOL or the capsule or opacities in the vitreous. Some IOL's can develop glistenings and others can have positive or negative dysphotopsias (another strong possibility for you.)  Also examination of the iris can sometimes reveal threadbare type area with light streaming through - another possible cause.  Wish I could help more - you've really got my curiousity.  I would love to find the answer.

Have had what I will call a retinal exam with camera and IV, an EEG and an MRI.  No results as yet.
