question

Hello
I have always wondered about this.  You know how you always hear people say that eating carrots are good for your eyes?  Is this true?  And if it is true how does it help your eyes?  Is it overall your eyesight or a specific part??

Thanks for your time!  :-)

Certainly carrots are good for your eye but spinach (for the lutein) is better. Most people get plenty of beta carotene.

Carrots, as does most orange-colored vegetables/fruit, contain beta-carotene, a nutrient necessary for night vision.

According to Snopes this is a myth that was perpetrated by the RAF during WW2 to disguise the fact that they were using advanced radar to spot Nazi bombers.
