restor lens in left eye

If I do PRK to further correct the distance vision I now have with the restor lens, will this also improve intermediate vision and reading?  If I put over the counter reading glasses on, I can read and see things up close better.  Am I to assume that all three visions will improve, or will I still need reading glasses?  I have found only in bright light can I see to read, but who is constantly in bright light.  Will the night halos still be there?

I just did the right eye with a monofocal lens.  There is no doubt that I will now need reading glasses, but I understood that this would be the case.  Aside from glasses, which I may be stuck with all the time now,  I find it annoying to constantly put them on & take off.  Are there contacts that will correct near vision?  Also, is there any surgical technique that would help?

Thanks for input.  It really is appreciated.

Never saw an answer on Medhelp to my question re: Restor is 1/2 diopter off.  Is this what is causing my fuzzy vision?  I believe I refract now between 20/25 and 20/30, but everything is still fuzzy, all three distances.  I am really concerned that if I do Yag it will not be enough to correct vision, and if I do PRK will I correct, although you already told me I would lose some vision depending on whether I was adding or subtracting myopia.  So what good is the Restor Lens that is suppose to give me all three ranges of vision.  Please reply as I need to make a decision soon.  I now have the name of a doctor who has a great deal of experience with Restor Lens, but he is in N.Y. and I am in Viirginia which somewhat compounds the problem.

My email notification said there was an answer to this post, "My doctor said PRK would improve vision all the way around",  but I cannot find one.   I'll keep checking.

Thanks for all your help.

My doctor said PRK would improve vision all the way around.  I made sure I asked that question, but if I have the PRK on Restor eye for better distance, and still will need glasses for intermediate and near, I fail to know why I got a Restor Lens.  Is it possible that intermediate would also improve along with distance?  Last checkup, refractive was close to 20/25, but a difficult read for me.  Maybe all I need is the Yag, but would this give me more clarity and better vision and eliminate need for PRK.  I know that the PRK cannot be done without the Yag first.  My fear - if Yag doesn't do it, then you try PRK, if that doesn't get rid of ghost-like emages, I'm stuck.   The lens is off by 1/2 diopter, can this be the problem?

Thanks a bunch for all your help.

Well you won't feel the Restor IOL its totally in your eye, the bruise is not likely a cause as it usally heals smooth just like a bruise on your skin. Could be a lid problem, something under the lid,  Have your Eye MD look undeer the lid and check lid carefully for lashe, etc.

Hi Dr. Hagan,

Left eye with Restor lens very often feels like there is something in my eye, only on the inner corner, mostly on the sclera.  I don't always feel this, but a good portion of the time I do.  Is this due to dry eye, or could it be due to the surgery.  After the operation, the inside of my eye was completely covered in a deep red, the outside of the eye was black & blue all around the eye and covering the cheekbone.  Did not disappear for many months.

Please give me your input.

No you would lose something if you have PRK, your clear vision without glasses would be shifted one way or another depending on whether you are "adding" or "subtracting" myopia.  Yes contacts can be worn over ReStor or regular IOLs.

Can't generalized a bout the  halos at night. Would suggest you get several 2nd and 3rd opinions before you take action.
