rims of eyelids - red

My mom (78) has red around the eyelids where the upper and lower lids meet. When asked, she says that they aren't sore or itchy.  Tho she has very poor memory. She also sleeps a lot. Is there reason for concern? (I posted this question in a different category (?) on Nov.3; but haven't seen response. I'm a "newbie" to this site...?)

Thank you doctor. We will investigate, and hopefully it will be a simple resolution of keeping the eyes clean.

By far the most common cause is "blepharitis"   also known as "granulated eyelids". use the search feature and archives to read about. Try and get her in to a medical eye doctor ophthalmologist (Eye MD) for a definitive diagnosis and to begin therapy.
