It’s hard to know the exact reason for your irregular bleeding without knowing more about you and examining you, but there are several possible causes.

First, sometimes women can get spotting with ovulation. Based on the dates you gave me and assuming you have regular monthly periods, the bleeding you describe would be around the time of ovulation. Ovulatory bleeding is not dangerous and can be normal. However, the bleeding you describe sounds heavier than what I would expect with simple ovulatory bleeding.

Are you on hormonal birth control? These can cause irregular bleeding and spotting. Or have you had any recent changes in your life or body, such as stress, weight gain, or weight loss? This can also cause changes in your period.

A final and very important cause of bleeding is pregnancy. Is there any chance you could be pregnant? If you are pregnant and you are having abdominal pain and bleeding, this can be a sign of a dangerous complication pregnancy called an ectopic pregnancy, and you should go to a doctor right away.
