46eggs retrieved

Hi
I had my retrival on Tuesday and 46eggs were retrieved my Dr said he has never retrieved that much eggs in 15years of practice. 34 were matured and 26 were fertilised (We are doing the ICSI). My problem is that i've been feeling very sick since my retrieval. My stomach is swollen and i feel like i'm carrying alot of air in my stomache.  This is my first round of treatment. Is this feeling usual? I have also gained 4lbs since my retrieval (this is day two). On the day of my retrieval i was so sick in my stomache but the dr said it was because of the eggs and that my ovaries were enlarged because of the Gonal Rf. I had to stop taking the gonal on day 6 instead of day 10. After my retrieval i was told not to take the progestrone treatment because i didnt need it. Is this usual or unusual. I'm really praying and having faith that i take in. My transfer is on sunday. Please pray that all goes well. I'm nervous but also very excited!

I was discharged on Wednesday evening. Thursday was my birthday so, i was so excited to be home. I have a little bit of fluid left in my rt lung but i was told that with time i would be back to normal. I'm feeling much better but i'm no longer able to lay flat on my back or lift with my right side but all that will get back to normal with time.

My Fertility Dr stated that if all goes well i should have my transfer in 6weeks. 6weeks seems like forever but i will be patient. Thanks guys for the notes, prayers and encouragements. I love this site!!

Its been a lot going on in my life. My transfer wasnt done on sunday as scheduled. 3embies were frozen. My OHSS got worse so I got admitted on sunday evening. Today, monday the pulmonary dr drained one litre of fluid from my rt lung. Later today they will  drain some fluid from my stomache.

I thank God for the releif I feel. I still have not recovered totally but im glad that I can  now breathe and walk. I just want to get well.

Transfer is on hold till I recover

Yes u must be having ascities...some free fluid in ur abdomen. bt not to worry...ull probably be tested to see if ur hormone levels dnt rise too much. with that many eggs its nt surprising. If u get pregnant ul ned alot more care. check ou t natural remedies for ascites... fenugreek seeds overnight soaked in water is good.

Just left the dr's office and you ladies were right. I'm suffering from OHSS but he stated that I will be fine. Lots of fluid and rest. Total weight gain since tuesday 6lbs thats frightening (today is friday)!

On the bright side the embryologist gave me an update on my embies: 3 excellent , 6good, 6poor and 11very poor as of this morning.

I'm excited and looking fwd to sunday.

I agree with jmcavoy.  You need to tell your Dr about your symptoms because it sounds like OHSS to me too.  It can be very dangerous and can affect your transfer.  Here are some facts about it, but definitely call your Dr.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

You should call your Dr and tell them your symptoms. It sounds like you may have gotten Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), with that many eggs being retrieved, it's possible. The Dr will know how to help you with it. You do not want to have OHSS while pregnant as the symptoms can prolong and get worst. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

Good luck with your transfer. Hope you feel better, stims and other meds do mess up oveall, causing pain in ovaries, pain in stomache seems usual from my experience.

Take care.
