Calling All Women of Strength!!!

A Strong Woman VS. A Woman Of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Many thanks to all of you for your feedback on the spotting.  You really made me feel so much better, and I am very grateful for this community.  So far, there hasn't been anything else to worry about, and I have been testing twice a day (just did one), and they are all strongly positive.  If they are still that way on Friday, I will begin to relax.

Before I started trying to get pregnant, I used a lot of beauty products on my face and body.  I stopped most of them, and since I got pregnant, I have been doing a lot of research on what is approved as safe in the way of face creams, body creams, makeup, etc.

This is a particular concern of mine, so I thought I would share what I have learned, but I don't want to give the impression that I think everyone else should be as worried.  Most women probably don't pay attention to these product details, and most babies are healthy, so I know that this is perhaps going overboard.  However, if it interests you, here is the info:

My skin has been breaking out a bit, but most doctors recommend pregnant women not use the acne standards: benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid.  I have just been living with it and using nothing.  Yesterday I discovered a line called Belli, which seems serious about prenatal and maternal personal care products.  I wondered what, if anything, others have heard of it.

A watchdog organization called the Environmental Working Group is my primary source of information about such matters.  That's where I got the water information:
www.ewg.org/ourwater. The bottom of that page gives a link to their bottled water report. They also have a cosmetics database called Skin Deep that tells you about thousands of products:  www.cosmeticsdatabase.com.

One thing I learned is that natural and safe most of the time isn't necessarily safe during pregnancy.  For instance, a number of essential oils aren't good for pregnant women.  Also, too much vitamin A, even in over-the-counter preparations (usually called retinyl or some version of that word), should be avoided.  Even witch hazel, according to a seemingly well-versed woman in the health food store, should be used with restraint.

I am currently using Weleda's rose soap and rose eye cream, both approved by the database.  Aubrey Organics is a good line, and, as I noted above, I'm considering Belli.

I would be very happy to receive any feedback, criticisms, alternative product suggestions if anyone is interested in this type of thing.  All the best to everyone.

Just an update: thankfully uneventful.  I had my 32 week appointment today and everything looks good.  Looks like my last day of work will be September 9 and the hubbie is building the furniture we just bought for Hayden's room.

He thinks it's funny that my belly button is completely flat now.

I found out that my doctor will be on vacation the week I am due.  Boy, I was/am NOT happy about that.  I think it's pretty insensitive... Grr.

Stacey: BEST OF LUCK TOMORROW!!!  YAAYYYYYY!!!!

scripps:  Others have said this, but just to offer another note of encouragement, I have had off and on brown spotting throughout the pregnancy.  My doctor says I don't even need to call unless it is bright red.

Dnikki: I hope your hot water is fixed soon! I had to take a cold shower once during our remodel & I wouldn't recommend it ;( How's the job search going & how are you feeling? My next appt is Saturday.  Good luck tomorrow! :(

Stacey: There's no way we could all wait til Sat fir your update, so it's no problem! :) Best wishes to you & dh! OMG, I'm just so excited for you =)

Luvkayln: I'm so happy for you! That's just what you hoped for & now you'll have such a blessed Thanksgiving!!! It's perfect that you'll be rested(?) & ready to celebrate Christmas with Addy in your arms & she can help you celebrate Kayln's b-day too ;-)

Pyar: I'm sorry about AF ;( Have you been looking into egg donors?

Sbumblebeeo: I'm so sorry for you! ;( It sounds like you're following dnikki's lead... Take care & take her advice! ;)

scripps: I've heard that dark blood is old blood, which shouldn't be something to worry about. Do you think you'll see a doctor here, in the U.S.? Take care :)

sbumblebeeo: I had an aweful time with all day sickness also - don't drink anything with your meals and make sure you are eating 6 small meals rather than 3 big ones. Keep a bottle of water by you to sip on constantly throughout the day and DON'T chug/gulp a lot of liquids at once (even though you are sooo thirsty and want to chug!). Hopefully this will help you some. It's not going to be a miracle to where you won't get sick, but you hopefully will be able to keep some of it down. Hope this helps!

Luvkayln: YAY!! I'm so glad everything is going well for you and Adalynn!! At least you konw when she's going to be born and it won't be ono Kayln's birthday :-)

Stacey: Good Luck tomorrow and here's to a healthy bouncing baby boy!!!

My appt. go tmoved up to tomorrow b/c apparently they have an IVF case during my other appt time on Thursday. So I go in tomorrow at 10am. Not sure if they'll just do the doppler for the heartbeat or an u/s (I'm hoping for the u/s!!!). I still haven't got any belly pics to post up - waiting for DH to have time to take them of me and as you know he's been busy trying to get our hot water back on! But hopefully tomorrow! I'll check in later!!

Scripps - I had bleeding off and on.  Spotting during the first trimester is very common.  If anything changes and you start to cramp or it is red then call your doctor.  Otherwise you are just fine!

Luvkayln - Great news on your appt and that they will induce you around 36 weeks.  That is great!!

Mrspace - I hope to get some good news from you when I check back in when I get home!!  Sending lots of prayers your way!

Dnikki - I used to get really bad headaches in the beginning.  I called them my "headache days" because they would be really bad and last for almost the whole day.  I was on bedrest so thankfully did not have to function.  Hope you get hot water soon!

Well ladies, this is it.  Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers.  The c-section is at 7:45am EST so please say a little prayer for us then too! :)  I posted some last belly pics for you!  Take a look.  Jake is a big boy!  I am guessing somewhere around 6.5lbs and dh thinks around 7lbs.  I guess we will find out tomorrow!  I will be sending Mommyin10 an update as soon as I can so she can pass on the news.  Thanks Mommyin10!

Take care and I look forward to checking in when I am back at home with my little Jake!

Hey ladies! :) I'm back from my appt. and have wonderful news!! I talked to my doctor about inducing me, and guess what?!  She's inducing me around 36 weeks, yay!! :) I'm so excited, so little Adalynn will be here right after Thanksgiving, which is perfect! I now don't have to worry about her coming on Kayln's birthday, and I'll be feeling great by her birthday and Christmas! It's funny to  think that she'll be almost a month old when her due date rolls around! :) It'll be almost like a dream, actually being able to bring a baby home after all we've been through! I'm just so thankful and happy, and now that's 4 less weeks I have to wait for our baby girl!! Yay!!!!!!! :) We didn't do an u/s today, and my doctor said honestly we probably won't do anymore, unless her growth slows down or something is wrong. She said from her morphology scan, she's doing absolutely great on everything, which is a big relief! :) So we just did the h/b today, and got a lot of question's answered. My next appointment isn't until Sept. 8, 4 weeks instead of 2, which I'm ok with b/c we'll be doing my diabetes test, and then my appointment after that, I get my rhogam shot b/c I'm rh negative, so I get a shot at 27 weeks, and then again after birth. Oh, they also found Strep B in my urine, which just means that when I'm in labor, I have to have antibiotics to prevent Addy from getting phnemonia when she's born. Gosh, sorry that was so long! ;)

Stacey- Thanks for the note! :) Now I'm just so ready for November, lol! ;) I'm so excited for you for tomorrow, what an exciting day!! I know you've been waiting for this for a looonng time! ;) And how awesome to think Jake will be here in just a matter of hours vs days! :) So Happy early Birthday, Jake! We all love you already!!! :)

Mrspace- Wow, that is an awesome temp jump! And no spotting... I'm getting excited!!! :) I'll go check out your chart!

Mommyin10- Thanks for the note! :) I was ready to see her today, but got great news instead, and it just made my day! :) Oh, and I guess I forgot to mention today is Sean's and I 2 year wedding anniversary! Oops! :) I guess I've had baby on the brain too much lately! lol ;) We're half way to your appointment day! Yay!! I'm praying so hard you get to see 2 h/b's! What an awesome sight that will be! ;)

Scripps- I know how scary that is, to have that brown discharge! I had it every month for 3 months ( like when AF was due, and I had it for 2 days every 30 days). And everything was ok! Some women just do that, b/c they're so used to having a period, and the ER doctor said that when it was happening to me, that there was a wall in my uterus that hasn't recognized my pregnancy yet?! But my mom did the same thing when she was pregnant with me, but she did it every month for 7 months! Maybe see if you are able to get in for an u/s here? The fact that you're not cramping and bleeding is a great sign! Even though it is super scary, it's normal! Just relax as much as possible. :)

Candie- Well... I'm sitting here wondering if you decided to start your femara this next cycle or not? :) I hope you are feeling better!

** just a side note:  For those of you who may be confused by one of my entries yesterday.  I am not lactating.  It's like I'm lactating, but it's a little different.  When I'm on clomid, I occasionally get what's called galactorrhea.  It's where my body produces too much prolactin, and I start producing small amounts of breast milk.  It's not a sign of pregnancy.  Granted, the sore boobs and swollen nipples might be a sign of pregnancy. I am not ruling that out.  But for those of you who wanted to know, there is your answer.  It IS possible to lactate when you are not in your late months of pregnancy, or if you've just had a baby.  I was just letting you all know what my body is doing right now.  We all like to keep updated on each other, so I was just putting it out there.  Sorry for any confusion.

SSBD to all, and prayers to all those mommies to be (Stacey, especially today and tomorrow!)

Rachjas: I'm so sorry...Please know our houghts and prayers are with you and dh :-(

Mommyin10: How are you feeling? When is your next appt?

Mrspace: Awesome on the temp spike! When do you plan on testing?

Stacey: Good luck tomorrow and I will look for your update!! I can't believe he will be here tomorrow!!! YAY!!

Sorry I've been MIA - Sat and Sun I didn't have my computer b/c of the DJ'ing thing - we use my laptop to play the songs through our system. It was fun though! Yesterday I ended up with a migraine - it actually started about 11pm Sunday night which was really cra ppy b/c it was hard for me to sleep with a pounding head. It finally went away about 6 last night. I'm not sure I've ever had one that bad before. I hate taking meds but I ended up taking 6 tylenol (throughout the day, not at once) - I didn't want to take the max does of 8  so I held out lol. Nausea seems to be better. I feel like I'll feel like I'm going to get sick right then and there, but as long as I have a mint or something then it passes quickly. BBS still feel like they are going to hit the floor anytime I move even at night (they wake me up!!) So I ended up sleeping in a sports bra last night - helped a little. Oh, Sunday night our water heater decided to go out also. He went downstairs to let the dogs out and I hear ******* **** and there was hot water spraying everywhere...so he's been trying to install a tankless heater since yesterday...Try cleaning and laundry with no hot water! We had to take showers at the neighbors last night! Well, goinig to get off here for a bit, lunch is ready!! Have a great day!!

Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-)

rachjas: I am so sorry to hear your news.  You have been through so much already in your fertility efforts.  You do have youth on your side, so you have a lot of time to keep trying, although I hope you will not have to wait long.

guesito: It must be very hard to try to sort out what is right for you, your daughter, and your future grandchild.

mrspace: It sounds like you are pregnant.  I hope you are.

stacey: All the best to you.

mommyin10: glad everything is going so well.

Yesterday, I woke up at 1am to go to the bathroom and had some brown discharge.  I figured I must be losing the pregnancy.  However, it went away after a few hours.  Last night and today there is nothing.  I have taken 3 pregnancy tests since then: one yesterday afternoon, one last night, one this morning.  All positive, although I realize the tests are very sensitive, so be sure they aren't picking up leftover hcg, I'll have to wait for several days.  I do not have cramps or bleeding, although my lower abdomen feels like I have been doing situps when I shift positions.  My breasts are still sore.  I'm not sure what to think, wondered if any of you have knowledge or experience with such a phenomen.  Yesterday was 4 weeks since the embryos were created, probably 2 1/2 since they implanted.

OK ladies.  I read all of your posts daily and I am amazed at how you can keep everyone straight.  Well here I sit today wondering who can make me stop throwing up???  This morning I tried to eat plain toast and ginger ale for breakfast and you guessed...I threw up straight ginger ale.  I went to the pharmacy and luvkalyn, you're right, no pepto but take tums.  Those didn't work.  I bought the sea bands and those didn't work.  I did find MINIMUAL relief from peppermints.  Maybe it's the combo.  I am so hungry my hands are shaking but everything I put in, comes back out.  I questioned my DH last night and asked him if his sperm was at some point poisoned LOL.  He thinks I'm funny.  Around bed time I am finally just nauseated and when I sleep I don't get sick so as you can guess all I want to do is sleep.  I really never knew it could be this bad!  I am thankful for everyday that I carry this baby but I sure wish I was just a little less miserable.  Hugs to all the others in my shoes....blahhhh

Good morning everyone!  It has been a crazy morning for me already.  I woke up and took my temp first thing this morning.  I just KNEW that my temps were going to drop.  So I stuck the thermometer in my mouth and took my temp.  IT was SUPER low.  Well, it was super low because I fell asleep while taking my temp and the thermometer was barely in my mouth.  So I laughed at myself and took it again.  99.0!  That's a HUGE temp jump.  So of course I took it a few more times just to be sure.

Then I went to the bathroom, which was my next big nervous thing.  Every month on 12dpo, I wake up, and I have spotting.  So I just knew I'd have spotting.  Nope, nothing.  I am having cramping, but I think it's still from my ovary problem.  So we'll see.

No morning sickness or nausea this morning.  Just some heartburn.  My bbs are so bad though.  They feel so heavy and my nipples feel HUGE.  DH said they ARE huge, ha ha.  They hurt.  So hopefully it's just another good sign.  Part of me wants to test tomorrow, but I'm going to try to wait until Thursday.

stacey- I can't believe it!  Jake will be here tomorrow! I'm so excited for you and I can't wait to see pictures.  You'll be in my thoughts and prayers all day tomorrow!

mommyin10- I am so excited about your little ones.  I can't wait til your next appointment!  I hope you are feeling great!  Thanks for keeping up with my chart and giving me so much encouragement.  It helps more than you know.

luvkayln- Check out my chart today!  Whoa baby!  I want so badly to be excited, but I'm more nervous that my body is playing a cruel joke on me again. I know we all know how that is.  I'm waiting for that big temp drop still.  But hopefully it'll never happen. How are you feeling?  I love the new pictures by the way!  I'm thinking I should come down so you can help me do the letters when I am pregnant.  They look amazing!

dnikki- Hey girl, long time no talk.  How are you? How's the job thing going? How's DS?

rachjas- I said a few extra prayers for you last night.  I'm so very sorry. I hope that they can figure out what's going on soon and that you'll get your miracle.  You are in my prayers sweetie.  And know that we're all here to support you.

keyan- How are you doing? What's new?

sbumblebeeo- Hey girl.  I can't wait for your u/s!  How are you doing?

Keyan:  Thanks =)  Yeah, my doc on Sat. asked me, "who did your transfer?!"  When I reminded him it wasn't him, he let out a sigh of relief (as a joke!)  We're so happy to have a strong heartbeat on #1, but will be praying now for two =)  It's gonna be a looong week!  Just 3 more days til your last shot!!!  Woo-hoo =)

Rachjas - Oh I am so so sorry!  This is not fair.  Everything seemed to be going so well.  I am so sorry for you and dh.  We are here for you. :(

GUESITO - You are in such a difficult position.  I think you are in the right mind to do everything you can for the baby.  Good luck and please keep us up to date.

Mommyin10 - Isn't it amazing how quickly your body changes?  You are definitely getting ready to carry your little ones.  I can't wait for your u/s update Saturday!!  Hee hee...Luvkayln is probably right.  The sneaky one has to be the boy! :)

Luvkayln - Hope you enjoy a few days off this weekend.  You have been so busy with work etc.  Good luck with your u/s!!  Can't wait to see more pics.

Mrspace - Looking forward to you testing.  Sounds like some good signs!! :)

Dh and I had a nice weekend and he is off now which is so great.  Can you believe we went to go see a movie on Sunday night and the theatre was out of power?  We had some wicked thunderstorms on Sunday and some parts of the city lost power.  Thankfully we didn't, but our theatre did!  Well, we went for brunch Sunday, dinner Sunday night and dinner last night so we definitely enjoyed eating out and spending time with each other!  I just can't believe this pregnancy is coming to an end and Jake will be here tomorrow.  I am so nervous and excited.  In some ways it feels like I just got my BFP.  In other ways it feels like It has been long 9 months!! I have had some stressful times with bleeding and bedrest but I really am so thankful.  I have nothing to complain about since my baby is healthy.  I can't wait to meet him and can't wait to post pics for you ladies to meet him too!  You have been such an important part of this journey for me and dh.  Thank you thank you!

I will pop in a little later today one last time before Jake's arrival and post some last belly pics.  Hugs to all!

Rachjas- I just sent you a note, but again, all my thoughts are with you right now! I'm truely shocked, and I'm just so so so sorry!! :(  It's just not fair, your little one was doing great! I know how you're feeling, I've been through it but at 36 weeks, as you know, and it's just absolutely devestating!! I feel your pain truely, and I just don't know why this had to happen! We all love you, please know that! We'll all be praying for you and dh! (HUGS)

Mrspace-I'm glad you plan to test soon! I sure hope it's +++++!!! :) Good luck!

Guesito- Wow, what a hard situation you're in! I agree with Mommyin10 that it's a very sensitive situation, and puts you in hard place with a hard decision to make! I'll be praying for you, your daughter and her unborn baby that everthing works out for the best!

Mommyin10- I agree with your mom! ;) Your body is doing a great job at making room for both little ones! :) I just find it so ironic still that it just basically popped up out of nowhere, what a lil' stinker, hiding like that! ;) That one must be a boy, haha!! ;)

Hey everyone.  Just another small update.  So I got home and my bbs feel AWFUL!!!  They feel super heavy and swollen.  My nipples are really swollen too.  I squeezed on them (don't know why, just did) and I have white stuff again (like lactating).  So just thought I'd update that new symptom.  I've never had such sore nipples before though.

rachjas-I can't believe it. I'm so sorry.  You are in my prayers sweetie.

Good morning everyone!  I am 11dpo and doing okay.  I'm still having pain from my corpus luteus, but it's not as bad. So that's a good sign.  I've got some lower back pain, but no cramps so far.  AF should start tomorrow. I've had no spotting so far, so that's good. My temps went up today again, so that's good.  I am hoping that it's all good news, but we'll see what happens over the next few days.  And for those who've been asking, yes I am going to test this week.  Thursday most likely.  It'll depend on AF of course.

mommyin10- Twins?!  Wow!  I am so happy for you and I will be praying for you every step of the way.  I couldn't be more happy for you!  I hope that I can join that BFP list soon.  I think my chart looks pretty good right now, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

luvkayln- Yes, I'm going to test Thursday most likely.  I really feel like I might be pregnant too. I keep getting scared though. I'm having little crampy pains on my left side. It's from the corpus luteus but I keep thinking that it's AF cramps.  I know it's not, but I still worry.  I just want this so bad.  How are you feeling?  How's miss Adalynn?

Well, my boss is gone for good now, so I will be busy today, but I'll check up again later.

Forgot to mention she's 17 and her B/F 19, they can't even afford riding the $1.75 bus to her dr. appts, She has stopped going. If it wasnt for the baby shower she would  have nothing!! How are they suppose to take care of this baby??...I feel they are very unfit and this baby will suffer. They are thinking about moving to Puerto Rico once the baby is born. They say because he can't find a job and his mom can support them out there. That's how big a lowlife he is... He has a very serious anger management issues and has also been abusive towards her. But....."Mom l love him!!! How sick!!!
