Chlomid

Hi -
I recently finished my first cycle on chlomid. I just found out that I didn't ovulate and the dosage will be increased for this cycle. Possibilty of progesterine ( i thin is the name) in addition to this.  Does anyone have success stories on  chlomid? i know my doctor mentioned 3 mos on Chlomid (once ovulating) and if not pregnant then make sure my tubes are clear. i am wondering if I should do that now rather then later- A friend told me about this wonderful website. Thanks for listening!

On chlomid challenge test.  Tested for FSH on CD3, was put on Chlomid 50 on CD5-9. I go for CD10 fsh blood work tomorrow but was also told I will have an HSG done as well.  Is this normal?  Could this cause any harm to my growing follicles/eggs?  Anyone heard of this happening in this order?

I got pregnant the first month after receiving Clomid from my OB. The HSG was done a year before.

I got my period yesterday and the ovuwatch says you can start somewhere between day 1-3 of your cycle. Has anyone used the ovuwatch to guide me on what day to start?

My doctor wanted me to come in stat for bloodwork so I did. They really wanted the HCG results quickly. I am confused since dr. didn't think I ovulated last month. Concerned about why the rush. Results will be in a few hours.

Anxious and nervous.

So you got pregnant on your first try? How long after your 1st consultation with the doctor and started the Clomid did you get pregnant?

We will have to see. Right now my period is a guessing game. Everyone on this site has been so helpful. I love it! Will see what the doctor says tomorrow.

The progestine is probably to make you get your period so you know when to start the Clomid again. It is pretty common that  is how I have to take it.

Thanks everyone! The dr. did say first chlomid then HSG if needed. When i called him to say i didn't get my period but am not prego he mentioned progesterine and well. not really sure what that does. I have to call him in the am. He explained that if I didn't get my period by then i didn't ovulate. I guess i am very anxious about this. We really want to have a baby!

With my first son I got preg the first month I took Clomid. Trying for #2 I just finished my 3rd month, but hoping this will be the month. I never the HSG. So your doctor may be saving you time and money by trying Clomid first. My dr. said to try Clomid and then we would move on to other tests if the Clomid didn't work after a few months, and I am glad I tried it before I went through all of the tests.

Lots of women have gotten pregnant on clomid, especially if it helped them ovulate when they weren't ovulating before. It's also not uncommon to need a higher dose. As for when to have the HSG (which is the test where they check your tubes), it's up to you, but I'm assuming the reason your doctor wants to wait is that if you're not ovulating on your own, then he or she is probably assuming that is the reason you're not getting pregnant, and therefore wants to try clomid first. I think it's pretty common to try a few cycles before having the HSG, but like I said, it's totally up to you. You could always ask your doctor about it at your next appointment and see what he/she says. Best of luck with everything!

I had my tubes checked before taking clomid.  I was successful on my first round of clomid with 50 mg.  I hope the increased dosage works for you.
