Donated Embryo Adoption

Hello, hope everyone is doing good...Just wanted to know of any success stories with using a Donated Embryo and if so would love to hear your input and your story.  We are considering this option mainly because we are so financially stressed right now from prior failed IVF/Fertility Treatments that at this point we won't be able to afford anymore cycles or even adoption.  Someone from this forum gave me information about this but it is still all new to me and as crazy as it sounds we are considering it as an option because we really, really want a baby.  I just need to be reassured that it would be the right step to take and needed to hear some input and/or get some support regarding using donated embryos.  I understand there is a waiting list and they also give you information on the parents.  This all sounds very strange in a way but when you've run out of money and still long for a baby it gives us hope.  Please, please, can anyone share their story/journey with us.  Waiting to hear from you...God Bless You...

I also don't really have information on this topic. I just wanted to say that our RE did bring it up to us during our very first meeting with him. He mentioned it as an option and said that a lot of couples decide to go this route because pretty much it's a lot like adoption but no one need to know and the baby will be your child from the very beginning. You get to experience pregnancy and then of course there is no possibility of an ugly custody battle as there is the (although slim) possibility of this during a traditional adoption. I am trying to get to ovulation to undergo my second IUI but am having a difficult time. If I keep going through these IUI treatments and stick it out for six of them and still nothing then well, let's just say I"m thinking forward to this as the next step. I would be very interested in hearing about what you find out on this subject. I think it's a great option. And I do agree wtih smahoney9 God can answer prayers in many different ways. I'm sorry I haven't been of any help answering this question. I just really wanted to offer you some words of encouragement and to say good luck!

I am sorry to say I don't know much about it.  Have you consulted with your RE?  I am curious myself.  As far as if it is right for you, I believe God has many different ways of answering our prayers.  I know how stressful TTC can be and how strong the longing for a child is.  Embryo adoption is, to me, much like adoption with the added benefit of carrying your child for 9 months.  Have you consulted with your local family services about more affordable adoption options?  Also, I believe there are many adoption grants and loans available.  Good Luck!
