FSH LH results

Can anyone tell me what these test results mean for a woman who is almost 41 and is going to try, for the first time, to concieve a baby?   I received them by fax yesterday and my follow-up consultation with my doctor is two weeks away.  Thank you.

LH 1.07
Estradiol 59.1

Good point, jennyvictoria. I assume the results were from a cycle day 3 blood draw, right? That's usually when they do the preliminary testing.

I just recently had my hormones tested and mine came with a sheet to explain it. When were you tested? Before, around, or after ovulation?

The reference range for your estradiol should be:

Follicular Phase aka before ovulation (12 days before)  greater than 25-69
                                                      (4 days before)   63-165
Midcycle aka around ovulation          (1 day before)   146-526
Luteal Phase aka after ovulation        (2 days after)  33-150
                                                      (6 days after)   68-196
                                                      (12 days after) 36-133

The reference range for your LH should be:

Follicular Phase aka before ovulation : 1.9-12.5
Midcycle Peak aka around ovulation : 8.7-76.3
Luteal Phase aka after ovulation : 0.5-16.9
                                                    

The reference range for your FSH should be:

Follicular Phase aka before ovulation : 2.5-10.2
Midcycle Peak aka around ovulation : 3.4-33.4
Luteal Phase aka after ovulation : 1.5-9.1

Hi nels! Your numbers all look good! As a matter of fact, your FSH, which is often used as an indication on your ovarian reserve, is in the excellent category! Best of luck to you!
