HSG showed no tubes

Hi all,
I had a HSG test today.  My consultant said it was just a formality and she didn't expect there to be any problems as I've not had any surgery etc.  But the doctor doing the test showed me the screen which just showed my uteress full of dye, but no tubes.  He couldn't tell me anything else, so now I need to wait to see my consultant - but that will be at least 3 months away, and now i feel a bit like a freaknow.  Has this happened to anyone else - it is normal/ possible?

Btw, I'm 35, my husband and I have been trying for a baby for 4 years.  I have regular periods, and before the fertitly tests started I felt fine and very healthy.  But a recent scan showed I have PCOS and now it seems I have no tubes!

It seems like everything inside me is just made all wrong - so any positive comments would be lovely right now.

The other thing to know is, sometimes the tube spasms shut with the force of the dye, and won't let any through.  This does not mean the tube is blocked, it's just refusing to open at that moment.  I'd call my doctor and ask for an earlier interpretation of the results than three months.

I'm so sorry to hear about your tubes. I can't imagine that they will still have you wait three months for an appointment. If I were you, I would call and ask if it is possible to move it up, based on the HSG findings.

I don;t think I know of anyone else whose tubes are completely missing, but there are women on here with blocked tubes, and it's still possible to get pregnant with IVF, as long as your ovaries and uterus are intact. I did IVF almost two years ago now (although for a different reason), and I now have a beautiful 1-year-old baby girl!

Best of luck with everything!
