Have you ever had Great embryos that don't implant?

Ladies,
I have done 4 Complete Fresh IVF Cycles. Never any embryos frozen.
Has anyone gone on to have embryos transferred thru IVF, which doesn't work, And then have success with Donor?
If this cycle does not work we are also headed to donor eggs.  I am wondering if donor eggs would work for me??

Also... my RE said that its ALL about the egg...
That my uterus is fine and thickens great for implantation...
She said that for women with no uterine problems..its ALL about the health of the egg...

I know the feeling but we have to resist the urge to put so much upon ourselves.

I feel sad but there is something keeping me strong.  For me that's God.  For you it might be something else.  There are times when I wonder what and why.

I may pick up my exercise again. . . maybe try to lose a few pounds before trying the next cycle.  I can't believe it is coming out of my mouth to try the next cycle (when I'm still not sure that's what I'm going to do).

I wonder about stress too.  I tried to minimize my stress level as much as possible.

Does anyone know the side effects of multiple cycles.  I had hoped to "get in and get out" without being on these meds for too long.

In my heart I think I will try again with the emb i have left. ...

I am tough and have experienced some things, but this process is feels like nothing else in life.. .

Hi!
No, i'm not going through Attain or Shady Grove..(i have heard that they are good though)
I'm going through a reproductive clinic at our local hospital..
The docs dont seem worried ... (easy for THEM..lol)
They just keep saying that my uterus is fine... and it will happen...  that my problem is just my eggs.. (hence using the donor..)
No.. no blood disorder that i know of...
the only thing that i do have is is low thyroid.. but they have that under control with meds... so.. I dont know WHY it isnt working..
Very frustrating....

Thanks for the nice note.  You gave me some valuable insight & appreciate it.
Are you going thru Attain or shady grove?
Why do the dr's think the eggs are not implanting?  Have you ever been diagnosed with blood disorder?

Thanks for the nice note. You covered many things we have already been thru but I so appreciate the thoughts.
As far as a 5 day blast- my eggs don't seem to make it.  He does believe I still make good embryos, but in my opininon there must be a reason why they are not implanting.
It's great you have FET mine don't even make it to FET.  I have done 4 complete FRESH Cycles.  I also don't want to pay out of pocket for something when I have already done 4 cycles & it has not worked.

- I was tested for killer cellls -- all clear.

We did NOT do PGD although we inquired about it & dr felt it is not 100% accurate & would be waste of money.  Also, they would prefer you have 10 eggs to test at one time. We never have that many.

To DIABOLI-- We have not used heparin although I was tested positive for MTHFR &
Pai-1.  I have been thru extensive appt with Hemotolgist & also high risk OB & they both have conflicting reports.  The High risk believes that Lovenox should NOT be used.

This truly is such a confusing time because I don't know what to do.  My Beta is on friday & will talk to RE when he calls to see what he says.

hey Kricket,  I had a couple of thoughts. Did your RE have you do an Inhibin B test? this is blood test (done on day 3) that determines egg quality. If you get above a 45, your eggs are considered good quality. Lower than that, there could be a problem.  Mine was tested at a 40 (considered borderline). I just turned 39. Based on that, my dr did not feel it necessary to go ahead with PGD especially when at day 3 my eggs were dividing nicely and he saw at least 3 or 4 of them would make it to day 5. Have you thought about talking to your dr about PGD to see how your eggs are chromosome etc wise? Not that i had the extra money to spare, but if i could go back in time, i would have done PGD. The 2 AB graded blasts they put in - 1 took and it ended in miscarriage. I had the fetus tested and it was a chromosome abnormality. I have 4 frozen and I'm petrified when i do my FET, this will happen again.

Another thing i was thinking was that you are doing Day 3 transfers... have you ever done a day 5? This might give you better odds if your eggs are making it to the blast stage...

The other thought that someone mentioned here was definitely doing prednisone. Even if you don't test for antibodies,  a lot of dr's think there is something to it.  Some of us even have a high # of natural killer cells that could interfere with a pregnancy.

Just some thoughts that might be worth exploration before you do the donor egg route especially if your dr is convinced your eggs are good. I would think most drs would let you know if they think egg quality is bad.

at any rate, i know how frustrating all of this is and it's the time factor that really drives me crazy. good luck and keep us posted!

Have you had any bloodwork to test for clotting issues or tried Heparin w/ your transfers? I had the SAME problem, last transfer did w/ Hep and prednison, and my 15mo is sitting here giving me HE!! :)

Thanks for the nice note.  I am 38 & my family has history of infertility. I am an only child.  I do have an adopted sister.  I personally feel there is something with my eggs although RE says I make great embryos.??  I beg to differ.
I did another HPT today & came up NEG. Today is 8 days pt.  Friday is the offical day...we will see.
Alli, I have never had a child though so we will be going with a money back guarentee.
Keep in touch.

kricket, If you have a good RE he should be able to tell you how likely it is donor eggs would work for you.  If your only problem is old eggs  - as is often the case with people 39+ (don't know your age) - then I'd think donor egg should work great for you.  After my failed IVF last March, my RE told me I'd be a great candidate for donor eggs since I'd had a baby before, had no other issues than old eggs.  If you do go with donor, definitely pick someone with a high likelihood of success; personally I'd pick someone under 25, ideally who is a proven donor (produced TONS of eggs, which fertilized, with many left over to freeze, and got someone pregnant!).  Unless you have a sister or cousin or something...that'd be my first choice.  Best of luck.

Hi! I have to use a donor so i cant give you some info on that side..

My first donor was 32 and had 3 children of her own and was also a "proven donor".. ..  meaning that she had donated before and  the recipient had a succesful pregnancy with her eggs...twins. (on the FIRST try)
Basically she was supposed to be a Fertile Mertle....

So.. on to me.. They called me after the retrieval and said that they were some of the best eggs they had ever seen..and be prepared for twins!..  blah..blah..
ugh... nope... that cycle failed...
We were able to get 3, day 6 blasts frozen though... So i had a FET with 2 blasts... again..failed cycle..
Then i used up my last little blast..and i got a BFP.. sadly..it didnt last..  something went wrong during implantation..

Sooo... now i am on my second donor... shes 21... so her eggs should be healthy... but... ya just never know!

They say that the odds DO go up if using donor eggs ..but... i have yet to see this proof.
But every stastic i have read on it.,.says that your odds are better...
Espically for someone thats older.(like me..).. it kinda makes sense that i'd have better odds with a young pups eggs..

I'm having my transfer soon.. and ill update you with the results with this young donors eggs.
