How Do YOU Relax During The TWW? Share Your Ideas!

Now, girls, we all know that relaxing during the TWW is essential to help us conceive. We've likely all heard/read stories about women getting pregnant when they were not thinking about getting pregnant, like taking a break, in the adoption process, or on vacation. I'm a true believer in NOT focusing on TTC and NOT obsessing. When dh and I conceived in 2007, it was the one cycle I didn't focus on it and we bd'ed ONCE. We actually decided to stop trying for a few months so I could hit the gym and get a healthier body. And that was when I got pregnant. I wasn't on any fertility meds and we did it naturally. I was 39.

All that said, I'm a huuuuuge obsessor and think about getting pregnant all the freakin' time!

So this thread is to help each other out with ideas. Ideas of things and activities we can suggest to each other, tools to use when in the tww, and, well, all the time until we are ALL pregnant!

Here's my contribution:

1) Take up a hobby. I knit. I take knitting classes regularly at the local yarn shop and I'm part of a weekly knitting circle.
2) Go for a stroll. It doesn't have to be a power walk. Just take a little walk-around.
3) Learn how to make jewelry. There's a new bead shop in my neighborhood and they offer classes.
4) Go to the zoo! It's not just for kids, you know! Animals are awesome, beautiful, and mesmerizing! Bring a camera, take some pictures. Print the ones you like and frame them or make a "Day at the Zoo" photo album. And, you'll get some exercise just walking around!
5) Go to the library. Libraries are cool. They have EVERYTHING. Look through magazines, search through craft books, get ideas for decorating your home for cheap.
6) Have a picnic with your significant other. It's romantic and relaxing.
7) Go to the mall. What girl doesn't love to shop? Buy for whatever size you currently are, don't restrict yourself with what size you will down the road.
8) Take your dog for an extra long walk. I took Traveler out for over an hour this evening and it was so great -- for him and for me!
9) Snuggle up with your significant other and watch a movie you both will like. Invite Orville Redenbacher!
10) Last, but certainly not least, Make Love Often!!! Surprise your man with sexy lingerie, high heels, candles, and wine.

Holy Moly! I can't believe I just came up with 10 ideas. I actually gave them to myself, without even realizing it!

I want to hear YOUR ideas, too. So, c'mon, jump on and share some with us!

:0) Sue

in my TWW and during my bed rest, i watched "the secret" many many times. sat in my patio just gazing out and admiring my flowers, closed my eyes and concentrated on breathing and listening to sounds. Oh by the way, make out cloud shapes in the sky was also fun. LOL. most of all I watched comedy movies, talked a lot with my nieces to keep entertained and for baby vibes. filled albums with photos which were just sitting around still in the store envelopes, that was fun, remembering exactly when the pictures were taken. Thinking negative never really went away, it was there, but I was getting good at blocking it from my mind.

it takes me a bit longer to shop too on the the TWW. since i do not have to avoid the baby clothes "corner" as you turn the first aisle in target. but oh man does it suck to turn that corner when AF shows up. so i race through the store then.

LOL laying here reading the list.  I am on the TWW again, 2dp5dt.  I have been reading a lot and watching tv.  I told everyone ahead of time that I don't want any depressing news or stories told to me.  I have been watching comedies and enjoying the quiet time :)  SSBD to all!

Thank you for the awesome list ladies!

I LOVE the idea of baking during the TWW.  I think i'm going to start baking bread.  I've never done it before, but how hard can it be?

I usually try to occupy myself during the TWW with working out, but nothing crazy heavy duty.  I leave the crazy workouts for when AF shows up and I am MAD!

I also line up dates with my various girlfriends during the TWW that gets my mind off of things and keeps me away from my computer so I cannot obsess!  Only prob is that going out for dinner all the time is pretty expensive!  Guess I'm just gonna have to start inviting myself over to their homes!

Sue- I love your list! And I needed that, as I'm 6 dpo today and sitting at my desk feeling crampy. The hardest thing about distracting myself from the 2WW is that I CAN'T ESCAPE MY BODY! So, I agree, doing something physical helps put focus on other aspects about the body besides what that strange cramp could mean. :) Although, I recently heard that too much exercise can interfere with implantation, so long walks with my dog and yoga have been the way to go for me.

HaHa - I'm with Jen!! :)

My biggest distraction was going back to college.  I kept putting it off because I "knew" I'd get a BFP any minute.  I wasted 2 years!  So now I'm pursuing a bachelor's in accounting and that keeps me VERY busy and is only going to help my family in the long run.

I love the idea of the long walks.  We all need them and the doggies love them.  I've also found it a great time to spend some quiet time with hubby.

i like the ideas i start my TWW on Friday but ive already told myself to relax. Ive been taking long walks and i got some novels to read. I have friends ciming over to visit and spend a week so i clean up the guest rooms slowly( the more i drag the process the more i have something to do).
I also love baking so ive been coming up with new recipes of cookies and cakes.
Another thing to do is spend time with your girlfriends, They can either come visit or you could go to their homes. Have a good laugh and talk about fun stuff.
This helps you relax and not obsess.........go out with your buddies and have a good time!

i just did my first complete cycle of IVF after 4 failed IUI's and am now 3dp3dt. I'm just relaxing at home with books, music, movies and of cos the net. My hubby away on business also :( Honestly i'm too scared i'll do something wrong that will harm my chances of implantation. I'm prob being a bit paranoid hey? Good luck!
