thanks everybody. i feel a bit better about it all now. thanks and hugs to you all. xx
I had an HSG done in April this year and it's not bad at all...although I was really nervous before the procedure.
as happynifer said, it's to check whether your tubes are open or not....
what I have heard is that the pain is much more in case there is any blockage in the tubes, since the dye is not able to pass through.
good luck !
i have had 3 HSG tests over the years and they really are not that bad.
uncomfortable for sure, but quick and i had no pain after the procedure (and did not take any medications)
basically they inject die into your tubes while using fluoroscopy to watch them inflate. this shows them if your tubes are open or not.
when your tubes are inflated, it feels like bad AF cramping, but it stops as soon as they stop.
definitely a needed test before you move on the fertility treatments.
thanks for replying, i've just been looking for information about it on you tube. I think it's sometimes abbreviated to HSG. Is that what you had? I've been told they insert something and put some dye in then xray to see if the tubes are open or closed. That's all i know really. That and the fact it hurts.
Hi,
I've had a hysteroscopy but not that. I'm not even sure I can pronounce that. Could you tell me what it is and what it involves please.
