Are you having a normal cycle? When they say weight can cause infertility, it is when your weight impeads you to have a natural cycle and it can also affect your hormone levels, which in turn can also cause infertility. I am 5'0 tall and weigh 270 and I am having my 3rd little bundle! I'm health and happy at 16 weeks, don't give up! Good Luck dear!

No, you're weight likely isn't a problem. I have been heavy all my life and got pregnant accidentally twice - under very unlikely conditions. Both pregnancies and babies were healthy. I hope you get what you want and every goes well for you. But, I have to ask...you've been TRYING to conceive since you were 16? Why in the world would you TRY to have a baby before you're even old enough to vote? I'm all for reproductive rights...but I seriously hope you've thought this through! Either way, good luck!! :-)

Do you get irregular periods? Acne? Abnormal hair growth/or loss? I would consider getting tested for PCOS poly-cystic-ovarian-syndrome. A great deal of overwieght women suffer from this condition and it is unclear of being over weight causes the insulin resistance assosiated with it, or if the insulin resistance causes you to be overweight, either way it is something to look into. I have this condition myself and it can be helped. Good luck. :-)

Hi. I too am "overweight" and i would have to say that being overweight doesnt necessarily prevent you from conceiving. I was 5'2" and 185-190 when i had my daughter *shes almost 4 now*, and now me and my hubby are trying for a baby and im about 220 now. so dont let your weight discourage you. as long as you eat the right foods, drink lots of water and tak prenatal vitamins, im sure you will be ok. make sure you two arent too stressed out, try to cut caffiene out of your diet, walk *thats what im doing now*, and if your smoking try to cut down or quit altogether because that sometimes effect conceiving. if you are doing all of that and it still doesnt work, try talking to your doctor and get some tests done to see if you have any internal issues. good luck and baby dust!
