Yeah, I understand. I know when I was looking around me for clinics, it seems as if PA's were a little stretched out throughout the state. I live in OH. So we're neighbors. You know, just a suggestion, Jessting on here went to a clinic in OH that couldn't get any of her embryos to transfer stage, she did 2 retrevals and never got to do a transfer with that clinic, I believe... I had met w/ an RE that I thought was just amazing, and told her of him. She went to see him, and now is pregnant with twins.... Maybe you could drop her a msg, and see what the difference between RE's were.
I just think you are aweful young to have quality issues.
SART doesn't have all three clinics in our area, but I did do a side-by-side comparison this weekend using CDC reports. Like I said before, there are only 3 clinics within probably 1.5 hrs of us. The one we are going to now has the best stats. They aren't much better than one of the clinics (the one we have an appt with in April), but they are a little better.
I'm still not sure what to 'blame' the poor embryo quality on. Our RE really isn't saying. When I asked, she said "well, IVF is supposed to take care of the sperm issue, so when we see the poor embryo quality, than yes, we think it could be related to the eggs". They are so stinking vague.
I did speak to our embryologist before our IVF cycle-not about how she handles the embryos, but just about her recommendations. They do share how they are handled in the information they gave us about the process, but I don't know what I'm looking for. Seems pretty standard to me.
When do you you think you'll have your embryo transfer?
Have you looked on the SART website? It gives you the success rates of clinics near you. Start looking/asking for clinics success rates for your age group. You will be suprised to here what a difference there is from clinic to clinic.
Not only do you need a good RE, you also need a good embryologist. Maybe speaking to them will give you insight into how the embryos are handled.
mhv- My RE did suggest changing the protocol a bit in hopes of jump starting my follicle recruitment/development. We have an appt with a new RE in April. It will stink to wait, but if it makes a difference, the wait will be worth it.
Kricket212-Yes, DH sperm was cked (1% morp is the issue). I have read more about egg quality affecting embryo quality than I have about sperm. I thought IVF was the Tx for the poor morphology. I will have to keep searching I guess. Thank u for your prayers.
I agree with MHV. Sometimes it can help. You are young & your eggs should not have issues. Have you had your DH sperm checked? Sometimes that can affect egg quality.
I pray you get your BFP soon.
I have seen alot of RE's change proticols for ladies, and the embryo quality improves, and I have also seen ladies go to new RE's and it makes a world of difference. Jessting is one of those ladies : )
