Is it ok to use Progesterone

I am 45 and trying to conceive my first baby. I have regular cycles every 28 days, I also use OPKs and get a positive reading. I have simple hyperplasia ( I don't shed all of my uterine lining). My obgyn prescribed me Provera to induce a period ( I do get one every 28 days). I went to see an IVF specialist in Sep and was told that everything looked better than he thought. He did prescribe Clomid and I just finished my last round of it. I believe I ovulated on 5/6/20.  I am estrogen dominant, and am wondering if it would hurt me to try a progesterone cream. When I had my testing done I was never told if I have low progesterone. I tried to track my BBT and know it has gone up in the past. My normal temp is 97.70. This morning I tested it and it was 97.58. Could something be wrong?  I stopped taking my BBT because my husband gets up at 2 AM and I  don't fall back to sleep long enough.
