Question about Clomid

So went to the RE today, currently at CD12, and my lining is good at 8.5. Took 100mg Clomid CD3-7. Saw three follies. One was 16, another 12.5 and the final 12. I also ovulate on my own, but have been at it for 8 months. Doctor was giving this to me to increase my odds, since Clomid is the first line of defense for unexplained fertility. However, if I am only (still) producing one egg, then what is the point of the Clomid? All it seems to be doing is potentially making my CM hostile. Thinking that after this month I should discontinue the use of Clomid. Anyone have any thoughts?

Even with just one follicle, clomid is suppose to help give you a "stronger" ovulation, so it can still be helpful; but of course, the more follicles, the better your chances. It can vary a bit from month to month, though, so even if you only have one this month, you could have two or three next month. However, I can relate to the CM issue. I felt very "dry" on clomid with no fertile CM, so my RE put me on femara instead, which is basically doing the same thing as clomid, but with less side effects. Oh, and I was ovulating on my own, too. Best of luck this month!

Yes I think you should discontinue and try naturally.
