Maca herb

Hi.

I just read somewhere that this herb does wonders for ED or fertility related problems by naturally letting body function more properly and by balanacing hormones.

Any advise or your experienec with this will be greatly appreciated. As an FYI - I have tired IUI mnay times and 1 IVF that resulted in an ectopic. I am going for another IVF mid-Oct. So trying to prepare as much as I can. Of course dont want to start anything wihtout consulting my RE. But would like to hear your advise as always.

-take care

Thanks. We'll give Maca a shot as its a food supplement so chances of side effects are very minimal. BTW - What is the benefit of L-Lysine and L-Argenine ?

From what I have read, it has no hormonal effects. It is reported to increase sex drive after being taken for 8wks. It had no effect on testosterone levels at all. Three or more grams is the recommended dosage. That is pretty substantial.  It is supposed to be pure maca root, dried then crused to a powder form to be taken. It is only grown in the Andes above 15,000ft. It sounds costly and hard to obtain in its true form. Kinda like trying to find real Hoodia. Lots of Hoodia based products can be found but do not work as it needs to be grown in its natural environment and eaten whole to get the dietary benefit. I guess my jury is still out. Have you looked into amino acids? L-Lysine and L-Argenine may be helpful, less expensive and easier to obtain. I gather this is only a male factor?
