Both docsaf and kmcarino are right. I had to go through the same process. we are about 2 months into this. Last month wsa my first IUI with clomid, no luck but I have fingers crossed. Good luck
you are being very proactive! You are right to start with the RE - I called my insurance company and that is what they told me to do. During my first visit, my RE told me and my DH that even if everything is perfectly normal and our timing is perfect, there is still only a 20% chance of getting pregnant in a month. I recorded my daily BBT and ovulation days and brought all of that information with me to the first visit.
Your RE won't suggest any treatment until after you and your DH have been tested. it took us about 4 weeks to complete all of the tests - my DH had a sperm analysis, I had a blood test on CD3, another blood test on CD21, a vaginal ultrasound, and a sonohistogram. The treatment your RE decides will depend on what he\she finds. My DH and I have "unexplained fertility" so we started with a low dose of Clomid+IUI. It did not work the first time, but I'm optimistic it will work soon!
Good luck!
Hi! I just wanted to give you my support. I think at your first visit they will tell you what tests they will need to do to see if there is anything making it hard for you to conceive. Your husband will also have an analysis done to see if he has any issues. You are still young and you have a good chance of becoming pregnant but first you need to find out if there is an issue preventing conception. Once you know this, you can try different treatments. You could do an IUI first before IVF since it is a lot cheaper. And I agree...you are being very proactive so good for you. Don't worry...you have a lot of time on your side and getting help early. I know that things will work out just fine in the end:) Good luck and keep us updated.
thank you. Plz tell me you rexperience...what will happen in my first visit?
Hi shreeji
I am from India but live in MA. Looks like you are doing the right things. I think going to RE will help. I am not too familiar with NH but the IVF center in Waltham which is about 45 mins from Manchester is really good. I would highly recommend them. The doctors are very experienced and will suggest a few tests which will help figure out a problem, if any. I think you are being extremely pro active. The usual recommendation for under 35 is TTC for a year and then try with RE. Good luck. You are not in this alone, anytime you wnat to talk we are here
