hey girls...
THanks for the insight about night feedings. The last two nights I have let "the pacer" --Elsie--wake me up. She is still waking up about every 3-4 hours.  She is up to 4.5 oz. and Breslyn is at 4 oz.
We don't have another appt. until 6/15 so I am just trying different things to see what works.   The girls are 6 weeks old now. Crazy how time flies. I'm not sure how much they weigh, but Elsie has got to be around 8 lbs and Breslyn 7 lbs and some oz.
Thanks for the FB requests. I got to see both of your pics and loved them!  At first I wasn't sure who you were hopeful, because we always have referred to you as "hopeful"....funny....

Well, just about time to feed....so I will talk to you guys later! Hopefully you can get some sleep tonight!!!!!

I have a Facebook page as well. I sent a request to Trudi, Aleks, and Sarbear. I didn;t know anyone elses info.

Things are going really well so far. I am still trying to breastfeed but my supply has decreased a bit too. It's very hard to keep up with pumping and taking care of the twins.

Trudi & Sarbear: As far as the feedings we have always let at least one of the twins determine feeding time. We did as Trudi, when one got up to eat I worked on him/her and then helpthe other one wake up gently (removing covers usually worked really well). Now I allow them to dictate their own feeding schedule. If they wake up together, DH just helps out. Right now we give baths and then feed them both btwn 9:00pm and 10:00pm. They usually sleep until about 4am or 5am after that. The bath really helps to calm them. It's not an exact science. Sometimes they are still restless after bathtime but not usually. I hope for them to be sleeping throught the night by 12-15wks old.  Is that a realistic hope? I'm not sure when it's normal to do so.

Also, I try keeping them up during the day too. Once my two are fed they are pretty sleepy and usually fall asleep right after a good burp. I wait about 10 min and then change their diaper. The cold air hitting them gets them back up and I usually spend about 30 min talking and playing with them while they are in bouncy seats or the swings. I so that once a day in the early evening.

Any other ideas on how to keep them up?

My two will be 7 wks old tomorrow. Jordan weighed 7lbs 12oz and Jadon 9lbs 8oz on 5/7/09. Their next appt in on 6/8/09. I am totally stunned by how quickly they are growing!!

Where is everyone else?

GUESITO: Good luck Friday! I'll be thinking of you!

Trudi, and Sarbear,
I have face book, I will send you guys a note with my info.  Taylor seems to be sleeping a lot better.  If I feed her at 10:00 p.m. and make sure she is really full, and burped good, she will sleep until 4:30 a.m..  I found the best stuff for gas, and colic babies.  When she has an upset stomach and really grouchy I give her just a little of it and she feels almost instantly better.  It is called gripe water.  You can get it at most healthfood stores or pharmicies.  I asked my pediatrition about it and she said there must be something good in it because a lot of moms have asked her about it and said how wll it works.  Anyway Taylor is probably about 10 lbs or really close.  She eats about every 5 hours or so and eats about 5 oz.
Guesito- Good luck this week I know its going to work and your going to get a bfp.  It sounds like the fet is a lot easier than the whole IVF process:)
Hopefull & Lexi-  Im sure you are so busy with the babies, I hope everything is going well for you guys.

I just accepted your FB request! So cool! I love FB. You can keep it really private and also share!

What we did for the first 8 weeks was do what you do now and feed the baby that was up first and then after we, or I should say I since I took the all night duty since I was on maternity leave, I would wake the other baby up and feed her. What we do now is let the babies sleep naturally so we don't force a wake up. For example, maybe the baby that we wake up would sleep longer through the night, we decided not to wake up the baby that follows the "pacer". So, long story short, now that I am back to work, we let the babies sleep at will and each of us is assigned a baby at night and then we switch the next night so we get to spend equal time with each baby. The thing that works the best for us is to make sure both babies have a full tummy at night around 10:00 p.m. (so if one baby ate about 2 hours before, they probably would only each about 2 oz.) and then they would more than likely sleep until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. and then we feed them again and then they sleep until about 5:30 or 6:00 or 6:30 a.m. which is when we have to get going for the day anyway.

Needless-to-say, I can't wait until at least one sleeps through the night : ) I would love to hear what hopefull has to say about what she does...At any rate, each day gets better and they seem to get into a schedule before you know it.

Talk soon. Babies are about to get up now. We typically each get up with an assigned baby but I think I am going to surprise dh (Chris) and take care of both this feeding : )

I am also intersted to see how the FET works. I will have to do that next time too. Many people think I am weird for already talking about my next baby....but the thought of not having another has never even crossed my  mind.....ask me again when the girls are running all over and getting into evertyhing!!! lol:)

Anyone else have a facebook page??? Trudi i sent you a friend request!

Trudi and Hopeful: how do you guys do the night feedings?  do you wait for the kids to wake you up to let you know they are hungry? or do you have a set schedule and stick with that?
Right now we are on a three hour schedule through the night as well. I am wondering when I will be able to spread that our further. i have tried doing every 4 hours, but it seems like Elsie is waking up at 3 hours still and starving.  2 nights ago, I tried to just let them wake me up to let me know they are hungry and they both ended up waking up at the same time and screaming from hunger.  With the 3 hours scheudle, elsie eats first and then as soon as she is done, I get Breslyn and feed her.  My dh has to get up for work, so I am the only one doing the night feedings, unless they are both up at the same time.

Any insight would be great!!! :)

Guesito: how did the appt. go today?
