PCOS & trying to conceive?!

I coul use some support from other women with PCOS. Maybe some hope. I've was diagnosed with PCOS in 2006. Accordin to my re I'm past all the symptoms for PCOS. We have been ttc for about 2 years and dis get pregnant in 4/10 but I miscarried. So I am on day 5 af after a bfn. I had u/s & b/w today. Everything looked good. Taking 1500mg of metformin, started 150mg o clomid today an go back nov 5th for more b/w & u/s. Hopefully a trigger shot. Anyone else dealing with pcos? What fertility drugs are you trying? Is there anything else I could be doing to help my chances?!?

I was diagnosed with pcos two years ago. I have a long story of how I found out, but in short. I am on fertility treatments now. We have actively been on treatments now for about three to four months. I had surgery last month on my uterus, but the doctor said I was okay to start again this month. I'm so worried and overly anxious to find out if the egg was fertilized and implanted. It's such a confusing process to go through because we always try and do things right, and you think you know your body, but end up finding out you really don't. I did Letrozol, menopur injections, HCG trigger shot, and am now taking estrogen orally as well as progesterone supps now. The waiting game is so so hard, and somewhat depressing. I'm almost ready to just give up even though I hope it worked this month.

I was diagnosed with pcos when I was in college. I had irregular periods and would bleed for many days. There was one time I bled for 22 days, that's when I told my mom. Then she too me to the doc and with tests and scanning got to know I have pcos. I started reading about it and knew from the beginning that it would be very hard for me to conceive on my own. In 2005 when we planned to have a baby I was put on clomid for three cycles, it didn't work for me. Then changed the doc's, 2006 started with gonal f and IUI, got pregnant at first try, but  miscarried at 18 weeks. After that tried three more cycles of  iui's, no luck. Switched to IVF, got preg, but preg didn't continue beyond 8 weeks. Went for second IVF with menupor and gonal-f, it worked, have a baby now. Good luck to you. Its a long road of struggle, but there is happiness in the end.

Im on metformin also... It helps people with pcso it makes them have a period each month... I was told people with pcos have a higher rise of mc and they should stay on the metformin until they r 12wks and others stay on it the whole preg..

I learned a year ago this month that I have PCOS after 10 years I was told I had endometriosis. I’m recovering from a MC that I had in Aug. Anyhow I know how you feel Katani my OB said too that "it wouldn't hurt to lose weight." Of course after my MC I’ve been working out again and eating smaller portions and now I've lost 30lbs (it only took 6 months but heck I'm getting it done). All I think about is being healthy for the baby I call it pre-baby diet.

Anyhow I was put on Clomid 50mg. Now I'm waiting for a second AF after my MC and it seems to be missing. I'm on 30 days of my cycle. However I would take that as good news but my OPK test all came back BFN each day for 20 days now. So I'll be back on clomid here in the next week or two.

Hi its all ok I have PCOS as well as uterus didelphys which is 2 wombs,2 cervix and had a septate vagina double vagina. My partner and I tried to conceive for 2 years and all my doctors kept saying is loose some weight and u should be able to fall pregnant on ur own well all I heard is ur to fat to fall pregnant lol, No doctor would give me Clomid as they said I would end up having multiple pregnancy because of my 2 wombs, but I finally did it on my own I only lost 5 kilos and fell pregnant soo u can fall pregnant its just harder for us to fall pregnant, we had a beautifull baby girl Leila and she is 4 months old now I was told I had even less chance because i also had uterus didelphys and I know and remember how it felt all those long months of trying but dont give up ok ur little one will come along good luck ok :-)

I have PCOS and the second round of IUI worked for me.  I knew I wasn't ov due to charting my bbt.

My IUI cycle was this:
Clomid days 5-9
bravelle shot
another bravelle shot
trigger when told follies were good
progestrone vaginally until told to stop

I don't remember my exact dosages but after the failed first cycle, my dosages were adjusted.  I did two shots of bravelle b/c my levels weren't right.  I did the shots all at home with the help of DH.

Insurance didn't cover any of my meds but luckily it covered the IUI process.

I am asuming your partner's sperm was checked in addition to you being tested? Did you have an HSG and day 3 blood work done?

Only an RE will monitor you while on Clomid with blood tests, I was told. OB tends not to  atleast that was my experience so that is why right off the bat we went with the RE for everything plus I was 35 at the time.

I also take provera to bring on af. I take clomid days 5-9. I was not ovulating on clomid alone with my pcos. When the follies were ready and ripe I get a trigger shot of ovidrel. This is my third go around with this cocktail and the first time I got pregnant and m/c. Second time was last month and bloodtests confirmed I definetely ovulated. So maybe you just need a trigger shot o help you ovulate?! That seemed to do it for me! The only downside is my insurance doesn't cover the shot. I pay $65 at my re office for it. Also it gives you pregnancy like symptoms so it almost plays with your head a little.
And the metformin suprisingly I didn't take until I was diagnosed borderline diabetic. I too am a bit ovwrweighht. It maybe helps you loose 10-15 ibs but not much. I hope I helped!!!!

Hello,

I was just recently told for sure I have PCOS but my doc said I have probably had it since I was a teenager.....That was something I figured out on my own!

I take Provera to start my AF and Clomid to help Ovulate.  This will be my second round on Clomid and I did not Ovulate on the first try.

I want to try metformin but i'm not sure my doc will agree.   Why did your doctors put you on it?  I am overweight and need some help losing it!  I know Metformin does help some women.   How does it make you feel....as far as side effects?
