POST Failed IVF - Getting ready for round 2

Hello,
I just went through my very first IVF cycle. Unfortunately for us, it did not take and we had a negative BETA. I am changing doctors/facility and wanted to find out what is an appropriate amount of time to wait to do this all over again from stage one. I am 43 years old but fortunately still produce eggs. I am anticipating starting meds again in April or May of this year. My periods are very normal and our major problem is 1) my age and 2) my husband suffers from low sperm count. I stopped taking the Progesterone shots 2 days ago and have not gotten my period but anticipate it will be here in the next day or so.
---How many cycles is considered appropriate to normalize my system?
---Should I be drinking something to help my body get rid of the meds/toxins that accumulated in these last 4 weeks besides water?
---When should an IVF patient start taking prenatal vitamins?
Thanks for your time.

How absolutely devastating for you -- my heart goes out to you. Stay positive and just know that it WILL happen!
I am in touch with a couple of doctors that are nice enough to do consultation via internet (one in India and another in Central America). They have been able to answer an amazing amount of questions that my doctor never ever discussed with me. I feel like I have a wealth of knowledge now and I'm ready to do this again. I am certainly changing doctors and going for someone that is way more aggressive. I'm 43 years old and I need to be treated with much aggressiveness due to my age. We all know that there are no guarantees so the best we can do is pray for the best.
Kricket...I wish the very best for you and your family!

I also just finished my first ever IVF. I have blocked tube so this is the only option i have.  My IVF was successful getting me pregnant although it ended in m/c at 6 weeks.  I was told I have to wait two full cycles because I had a D&C on Jan 6.
In your case I believe you can start again right away although I would consult with your Dr.
As far as the pre-natal vitamins go...I would continue taking them.  I have yet to stop.  They can't hurt you & it's good to get that extra nutrion in your system.

Best wishes to you!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your results. I sending you my best!!!! I wish I could answer some of your questions, but I am still in the middle of my first IVF and still trying to figure things out myself.

Well I know there is nothing that anybody can say to make it alright but I do want you to know that I am praying for your family. I am glad to hear that you are not giving up because I know if I am not successful I will try again. I may wait a lil bit to recover but I will get back on the train.

Once again take care and know that you will find much support here because we all know how emotionally draining this process is.....take care
