PREGNANCY AFTER THERMAL ABLASION

I didn't know where to ask this question but here it is:

I had a thermal ablasion done 3 years ago.  I am 41 right now.  I didn't have a period for the past almost 2 years until last month.  When the doctor did the ablasion it was done because of heavy bleeding I was having.  Before he did the ablasion he did say it's only for people who don't want to have anymore children because you can't get pregnant after having this done, I was ok with that because I was 38 years old and I had 3 children with my youngest being 13 so I was done having children.  I had the proceduce done and it went well and like I said my periods even stopped until last month.

My question is....can someone get pregnant after having this done and can someone like me get pregnant when I haven't even had periods til now.  Why did the periods starts back up now.  I'm wondering because I feel pregnant.  I just want to know if it's even possible because I was told it is not, why do I feel pregnant.  I haven't done a test yet because part of me is thinking it's in my head because it's not possible.  Ideas????

Thanks for the response, I called OBGYN and they didn't seem concerned or even think I might be pregnant more like maybe I am going into menopause they said to just wait and see for now, no reason to be conerned.  They didn't seem to think I was pregnant or that it would happen.  IDK..I guess I'll just let things ride for now.  I'm feeling better now so maybe it was all in my head. :)

carterl - YES! it IS possible to get preg after the procedure. You should take a test asap because if you are pregnant there could be some big problems becasue of your thinned lining. The chances are small but best for you to know for sure. I"m sorry that your doctor didn't warn you that there is a chance of pregnancy.  Good luck!!
