Something weird-Warning: TMI!!!!

Please be warned: This is very graphic!

Yesterday AF came in the morning.  It had been 30 days and I usually have 24-26 day cycles.  Well,  when I sat down to "take care of stuff"  something strange happened. Something came out into the toilet.  Sounds gross, but I picked it out with a Q-tip and put in in my sink.  This sounds disgusting but I actually picked it up to try to discover what is was. I thought it was a blob of mucous but it was stretchy tissue that was kind of like a balloon.  It was like a little sac.  I've never had this happen before.  Currently we are not ttc but I am not taking any bcp or doing any other preventative methods.  I even had a hard time keeping track of when I was o'ing this month because I had a cortizone shot that could've potentially messed with my cycle.   Anyway, does anyone have any similar stories or can anyone offer any advice? Thanks so much!

This just happened to me.  I didn't know what to do.  I called the docor, but she thought i was just a clot, but it wasn't.  It was like an elastic opaque white.  I took a pregnancy test right after, but it was negative.  M/c?

I had to post really quick as I had to go to work so hope it didn't sound too curt!
Anyhoo the most common cause of such an early miscarriage like that is if you ovulated late in your cycle it doesn't have time to override your period hormones - which essentially 'wash it out'. As you said you weren't trying to concieve and the cortizone shot might of just messed with your ovulation but it IS a good sign for when you do want a pregnancy. But if your ovulation remains 'late' (ie giving you a short luteal phase) then try taking Chasteberry (aka Vitex) as a natural remedy to stabalise your cycle and increase your luteal phase. (Advise given in advance ok! :)

I am about to try it myself!

I'm sorry you had to go through that!  =(   I do appreciate however you sharing your situation with me.  That's exactly how I would describe it, small like a marble and like a burst football.   I'm just happy we were able to conceive on our own...but a pregnancy would be nice someday!

thanks again and SSBD to you!!!

That is exactly what happened to me last year! I bled a little when I was due my period but it stopped and I thought 'weird' and someone said do a preg test. I did and it was BFP!!! I couldn't believe it! I was so happy! Then I started spotting, then bleeding. I read about miscarriage and that but I had no pain or cramps. Anyhoo, on christmas day (last year 07) it came out just as you decscribe. On the tissue it was about as big as a large marbel and like a burst football. That was my lil baby-egg :(

I bled for quite a while and it was 8wks before I got my next period....I have been trying to concieve since with no luck.

I believe it is all down to a short  luteal phase.

Sure thing. I have had three pregnancy losses all early and they are all painful. It sounds like it could be m/c tissue but of course we cant diagnose it but most of us have been there and know what our bodies are doing. I hope that its nothing just a funny period, keep us updated

mommyluv02-  Yeah, it wasn't red, it was gray, almost like opaque white.  I'm not worried about it however.  My dr. says not to worry about it unless I start to feel sick or have cramps.  This is exactly what happened to me last Feb when I miscarried.  I didn't get major cramps or anything, I just spotted until the sac came out and then spotted for a few days after that and my hcg when down almost immediately and my cycle continued right on track.   Thank you so much for your response and concern.

If it was an early miscarrage then unless you were several weeks pregnant the tissue of an embryo would not be that big and tbeards is right the tissue from a m/c is not always bright red. sorry that you are worried i would still call the doctor though, just to make sure its nothing serious. best of luck

Thank you all for your responses!  Maybe it was a m/c, I'll call my doc tomorrow about this. I feel fine and I didn't even have cramps this time for AF (which has been really light).  Thanks again!

PS.  Jess553-I saw your email.  I'll talk to you soon! Hugs!!!

It could be completely nothing but be sure to talk to your doc. I think I had the same type of "matter" one month during my AF long before I was pregnant (and for sure not pregnant) and it looked like it was uterine lining. When you mentioned yours was like a balloon it made me think it was the exact same thing. Mine was dark red like a clot color but stretchy (sry - TMI) and I think the typical miscarriage has more of a gray color of tissue although I have never had a miscarriage so anyone please correct me if I am mistaken. At any rate, again talk to your doctor.

Good luck!

That does sound very strange. I really think you need to call your OB and tell them what happened. I sent you an e-mail earlier. So I will talk to you soon.

I would go to your docs, basically tell them that you need a blood hCG draw done - That will def. tell you if you were preg. or not. A hpt could come back negative if you dont have enough hCG in your system to read a +. This way you know if you really were preggo and if you were go to your gyno so they can try to figure out why you m/c.

Sorry...Good luck

That is what came out when i had a miscarriage at 3 and a half months. it was like a sac and other tissues like that.

Does sound like it could have been an early miscarriage. I would do a test just to see cause if it is a miscarriage they will want to make sure that it is all out.

Sorry

have a good day

You should take an HPT.  Maybe you were pregnant and had an early m/c??
If not then you should see your Obgyn and let them know just in case.  There are many things it could be including a cyst or fibroid, although I am not sure if they " come out".
Good luck,
Lisa
