Success Rates in FET

So I just got a BFN from my first IVF cycle and I am very devastated.   I have five frozen blastocyst embryos.  I've read a lot about success rates of FET but it seems that they are much lower than those for fresh cycles and I am really freaking out because I definitely cannot afford to go for another fresh cycle in this lifetime.  I've also read that usually 3 day embies survive better under freezing/thawing process than blastocysts and all my frozen embies are blastocysts.

My gynaecologist seems to think that I should have better luck with an FET because of the complications I developed during my IVF cycle.  But I am not so sure.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks for the info.  The biggest hurdle now is to come to an agreement with my husband.  He is totally adamant that he only wants an SET but I really think we should transfer two.  I will also be looking into endometrial scratching to improve success rate of implantation as well.  But since we have to travel overseas I would need to see whether this can be done during the week when the ET will be taking place because I don't want to spend more time than necessary.  Otherwise I will have to see whether this procedure is done here in my country.

The med's for FET's are way less expensive than the fresh cycle.  The only injection was the trigger shot.  I also had the estrogen/progesterone vaginal suppositories, baby aspirin, and maybe a couple more pills.  I can't remember the exact names, but definitely much less expensive and much easier to handle!  Congrats on the five frosties!

My estrogen levels were really high as well from the injections.  I never realized that this could be a cause.  The clinic kept insisting that I should drink a lot of fluids because of the high estrogen levels and I told them that I was drink around 3 litres of water every day.

Do you know if the meds used in FET are as expensive as those used in fresh cycles?

Since we did IVF overseas, it was really expensive and therefore I need to take some months off to save up for it so we will probably go for the consultation at the end of this year and possibly go for FET at the beginning of next year possibly February because it is the least stressful month at work and I can do without the stress during the 2WW.

I did one fresh cycle with a BFN result.  We had 2 frosties stored and transferred both 5 months later to get one beautiful baby girl.  So, I'm a big fan of FET's.  It's also so much easier on your body with way less med's.  I wish I had more frosties to get a sibling but we will have to start from scratch if I can convince DH to go through it all again.  If we do it again I was going to ask the RE if we could freeze all of the embryos from the fresh cycle and do a FET after my body recovers.  They thought I might have had a BFN because my estrogen levels got really high from all of the injections.  Best wishes on your FET!  Do you know when it will take place?
