Support for ladies dealing with male factor infertility

Hi there! Thought it would be nice to start a group for those of us who are struggling with infertility due to male factors.  This is a different experience from those who are experiencing infertility due to female factors only with different treatment options/outcomes.  Looking to share experiences/stories with other ladies in order to learn and get support.

Here's my story- Have been ttc for a little over a year.  Fertility workup in June.  No problems on my end, but husband has poor sperm morphology (1%), otherwise motility and #s are fine.  Took clomid June and July in hopes of trying IUI.  Thinned my lining, so no IUI as of yet. Meeting with doc today to discuss our next options.  Doc told us nothing could be done about poor morphology.  Husband started taking a multi-vit, vit C, and the supplement Pycnogenol (150 mg) regardless.

How about you?

I am praying that all goes well with us.

Here's a Tip for you r friend: There is a program called the New hope Center in NY that are doing study on Mini IVF for 1st timers. So you may want to try them out..I wish I did before spending this money...I will be praying that you guys, finally get a bundle of joy that you been waiting for...

She didn't go the ivf route for 2 reasons... His count was pretty much 0. He had an injury to that area when he was younger. She was 36 and didn't know how hard it would be on her body also. The cost was an issue also... $15000 and our insurance at work doesn't cover the treatments aspect... Only the testing. There is nothing your DH can do to change morph? Where in PA are you?

It is good to hear you have no physical causes of infertility.  It is much more difficult to overcome trouble on both ends I imagine.  So now the dreaded 2ww, ugh.  Let me know how it turns out! Hopefully you'll get that BFP soon!

Did your friend consider IVF with ICSI or simply move on to donor sperm?  Great news that she finally was blessed with a DD.

I have also been trying for over a year. Finally did  all of the tests and I am normal. I have a son who will be 11 this year (not by my dh) DH has issues with motility. For the lack of the medical term... His sperm clumps. I did 5 days of femara on CD3-7 and Oed yesterday. I went in for my first IUI today and they did the washing with a certain chemical to unclump. so I have to wait 2 weeks!!! The dreaded 2WW! I had a friend whose husband had issues with # and morphology. They tried 2 rounds of IUI with his sperm but they didn't work. she ended up going to a donor sperm and just had her DD last week!!!
