Trigger Shot and HPT

Hi Ladies,
I've lurked on this board for a while and have found the posts here both helpful and comforting.  But now I have a question.  I took clomid on CD 5-9 then a trigger shot on CD 18 (5000 IU).  We BD on CD 19&20 according to Dr's orders.  A blood test confirmed on CD25 that I indeed O'd so I was instructed to take a "booster" shot of the remaining Hcg (2500 IU).  I'm wondering if I can take a HPT tomorrow which will be CD30 (5 days after 2500 IU shot and 10dpo).  Would the "booster" shot possibly cause a false positive.  Sorry if the question is a bit naive.

Thanks!

They say wait one day for each 1000U of trigger  - I think it should be out of your system by now using that calculation.

I was always told that the trigger shot remains in your body for up to 10 days, so I think there is a high chance you'd see a false positive. You can test anyway and if it's negative, at least you'll know that the trigger is out of your system (but that doesn't mean that you are NOT pregnant, don't worry!). Best wishes :)

Hi,
I would wait a couple more days before testing. I say that because you didn't actuallly take the shot before you O'd. So because the amount of the trigger is small it should not take as long to exit your system. However, if you test today or even tomorrow you may still test positive when in fact you're not. After a couple day I would begin to test to see if it shows negative. Then you will know that it is out of your system and if you test positive at that point it should be a true result. Good luck to you.  ;)
