I live in San Diego, NY is not feasable for me.... but if anyone has a good clinic in this area that would be great!
Hi,
Only after my first IVF cycle only, dr found out that we had only 20% fertilization rate naturally. Sometimes if the egg shell is hard or due to poor sperm motility, the sperm cant penetrate the egg, so there is no fertilization. For this they have a technique called ICSI, where the fertilization rate is over 80%.
There is one clinic at NY, they charge for IVF based on the household income. It is very cheap when compared to many clinics. If you want I can provide you the clinic name.
I have TriCare, they dont cover anything over IUI. So IVF is not covered. We can't afford it so have to stick to IUI. How long have you been TTC? We have been for 2 years and 3 months....
Hi,
Are you going through your insurance? My infertility process started with unknown cause and they did 3 clomid cycles, no pregnancy, so they moved to IUI, again they did 3 cycles. No preg, they moved to IVF and I got pregnant. Usually insurance wants everybody to go through 3 cycles each before going in for IVF. I have bluecross blueshield (MA) and they cover clomid, IUI and 6 IVF cycles totally. I dont know what insurance you folks have. BCBS is good. It is better to go for IVF straight, this process has more success rates when compared to others.
I dont have a good answer to your question, I think it is different for everyone. I have also been thinking about how many IUI attempts are we going to put ourselves through. For us it is a matter of the emotional rollercoaster. Our insurance is so good it is not a matter of money with the IUI. Insurance wont cover IVF though, so we are sticking wtih IUI. I know for us we are at the point where we are starting the adoption process. Adoption is not for everyone but I think for us it will make this process easier. I will be able to focus on our new baby and not so much on trying to make a new baby. Just some of my thoughts on the topic.... Keep your hopes up and make sure you and your DH are comomunicating. :)
