So, I never really had this and think most people don't. When you are trying to conceive --- any sign that you are or better, are about to ovulate would be most welcome. At most, maybe a side twinge but most women unless they have polycystic ovaries do not get any real sign they are ovulating. :>((( The only thing I've ever really found to be accurate is to take my temperature regularly. You do it first thing in the morning every morning. Chart it. You'll notice this pattern of your temp being a certain number and then going one degree higher. The one degree higher happens after you have ovulated. It stays higher until your next period when it goes back down and the cycle repeats. It does NOT go back down if you become pregnant (how I knew I was pregnant with my two kiddos!). The only problem is it really tells you . . after you ovulate. So, hard for trying to conceive that month. BUT, you will see what average day you ovulate on which helps you time trying better. :>)
I've been wondering this also. I've gone my whole life without feeling anything, and then a month before my 35th birthday I get this stinging or aching sensations on either side a few times in a month. Sometimes it hurts like when you have stitch in your side after running. I'm not quite sure if its ovulation pain or not though. I also don't know why this would start all of a sudden.
Not everyone can feel ovulation and those who do its different for everyone, it can be really sharp quick pain in your pelvis or lingering dull pain etc.
