When did you stop progesterone supplements?

I am wondering how far into pregnancy other women stopped progesterone suppositories? Did your doctor test your progesterone level after stopping?

I am now 12 wks and my doctor said I could stop now, not planning to test my level. I have a history of low progesterone and recurrent miscarriage, so am a little nervous about stopping too early.

At 10 weeks the placenta takes over so you are good at 12 weeks.  Most docs say 12 weeks in case you are off on dates.  Good luck to u

I stoped at 9 weeks because it was gone...and they said that was fine, no need anymore.

I understand being nervous (I've had recurrent miscarriages, too), but don't worry. You'll be fine. I was told by my RE to stop at 11 weeks (after my IVF), and I guess studies now show you can stop even earlier than that. By that time, the amount of progesterone supplied by the supplement is so minor compared to what the embryo is producing by itself, so it's really not making much of a difference. Best wishes for a happy, healthy pregnancy!
