doing ivf for the first time

I am 31 years old and 3 years ago tried 2 cycles of iui with clomid unsucessful.  me and my husband are now doing ivf for the first time. How invasive is IVF and how much does it improve your chances of conceiving? Is anyone else doing ivf for the first time ?   i have pcos and have been ttc for  6 years. any advice would be appreciated .

I think IVF is the best option you chose after 6 years of TTC. its very good in enhancing our chances of getting pregnant by all means. i am on my way too. half way through with IVF. this process is stressful and you got to prepare for that emotionally. first attempts could turn into trial and run in most cases so dont expect too much right away. once the doctor understands your body and your response; it makes the treatment much easier. you got to take lot of protein; and good diet overall; take care. good luck.

First of all GOOD LUCK!!  And well wishes!

We tried for seven years (everything short of IVF) with no success.  I also have PCOS and we came to find out just recently that my hubby most likely has male infertility issues as well.  So we decided to do IVF with ICSI.  In December, we had our egg retrieval and fresh IVF cycle.  It unfortunately failed. (I hyperstimmed - OHSS - that time around, which may be a reason it didn't take.)  But we had two embryos left to freeze.  We had our frozen transfer in February.  Only one of our little embryos survived the freeze/thaw process, but he amazingly MADE IT and now we are 24 weeks pregnant!!!

So I'm one of those ones who is there to tell you that there is HOPE!!!  We tried for seven years and finally were able to achieve our dream of pregnancy with only ONE little embryo!!

Lots of love and hugs your way!

Hi!

Good luck with your decision to pursue ivf. It is indeed a very interesting rolloer coaster to get on. My dh and are doing our first ivf this cycle as well. I think the best advice I can give you is to take things 1 day at a time. There is a lot that goes on with ivf and it can be very overwhelming at times. So stay + and 1 day at a time.
I am 30 and have had 6 failed iui cycles. I also have pcos but I seem to ovulate regularly just have hormonal imbalaces which are easily regulated. Also, my dh has low count so ivf was the next step. I was on bcp and stopped on tues. I am also on lupron. RE is now waiting for my menses to start so I can begin my stims. Nervewracking: when u need ur cycle to start it takes its precious time :-/ but hoping and praying it comes any day now.

Be patient, be + and live thru this 1 day at a time. Good luck to you!

Xo,
Marline
