not ovulating?

My doctor tells me n that everything looks normal and that I ovulate. But I have taken an ovulation test every non period day for two months and they are all negative. I asked my doctor about it and she said I am ovulating but that's all she would say. She told me to count my days. What could cause the tests to be negative like that but ny doctor to say I am in fact ovulating?

Thanks guys. I am definitely going to be looking for a new doctor. Just talked to mine again yesterday and she said if I feel like I'm not ovulating then she wants to put me on the pill for the next TWO YEARS to see if that does anything. That kind of defeats the TTC purpose now doesn't it. I don't think she knows what she is talking about. I have never heard of going on the pill to help you concieve. And she is so anti blood work it is shocking.

meant to mention as well, like another poster said you may spike at a time during the day when ur not testing.  My surge would only last 9 hours at times so if i didn't test during that time I would get a negatine.  I tested 3x a day for a few months until I got a pattern (found out I was ovulating on CD12 most months)

Have you ever tried temping?  It will tell you if your ovulating, altho it's a hassle to do every morning.  If your interested you can google it.  It's called taking your basal body temperature (BBT). And, fwiw, the only ovulation tests I could get to work were the clearblue digitals w the smiley face.  Good luck.

I also do not believe I am ovalating anymore either! I have been TTC for 3 yrs, two miscarriages and those pregnancies were from highly medicated IUI's. I am 40 now and I get monthly periods but also just had laP done for endo and I am very prone to cysts. Two diff gyns say I am likely ovalating but I do believe the eggs are not getting released due to some type of ovarian endo that has not been diagnosed. I have not had a positive OPK for several months either. The only thing I can do is get monitored again with the RE and spend money. Frustrated beyond belief.

Ive had this problem as well. Been ttc for 8 months now. I track my periods/symptoms religiously. I tried the ovulation predictors and always got negatives! I started testing from the last day of my period until the next one started! Ive been told that using the test kits can be tricky. Your hormone levels can vary from morning to noon to evening. You might have that spike in the afternoon but be testing in the morning or vice versa. Another thing that can happen is diluted urine. Watch how much fluid intake you have before you are going to test.

In short you may need to test multiple times per day during your window to finally get that positive. Now I tried the kits for about 4 months and couldnt get it right. Ive given up using them. Lol

Id request a 2nd opinion,  I dont like how your doctor is unwilling to help you find answers. Just because you're having a period doesnt always mean you ovulated (typically you do if you're regular but could be something else).

Hope something comes through for you!

I am not sure, but I would get another dr ASAP. Any dr that is not willing to answer your questions and explain things to you is a scary provider. I would question if the dr even knows the answer if she wouldn't tell you.
