overweight and clomid

is it true that clomid doesnt work as effective if your overweight?

I'm overweight by 25lbs and starting clomid. My doctor wants me to continue my exercise routine but he has not once said to me that clomid will not help. If anything, it should help me ovulate. Good luck.

I don't think that very true, although being close to a healthy weight makes the entire process easier on mom and baby, its not necessarily a must when ttc. I'm overweight and have PCOS and was on clomid for 5 cycles and just got my BFP a couple of weeks ago. Since then DH and I have been taking walks and working on eating healthier. Good luck to you!

thanks for your comment i really thank you for having the time to help me out yea ive heard this before im about to start clomid next month and im scared because im overweight and ive been hearing these things but the doctor says is nothing clomid shouldnt work it self around im here to hear from the woman in medhelp and their exp through fertility

I've never heard of that. I do know, though, that being overweight may mess with your ovulation, so perhaps there is some logic to that, as Clomid is supposed to induce ovulation.
