please read...i need information

Ok so I went to see a fertility specialist and he said I have PCOS.  I haven't had my period since christmas so he put me on prevera and then eventually clomid.  I am wondering what peoples side effects were on prevera?  I am EXHAUSTED! and I feel "off kilter"/dizzy most of the time.  Is this normal? I guess it's worth it right?  How long after I take my last prevera will I get my period and be able to start the clomid?  I have to go and have my blood drawn on day 21 to see if I ovulated....will they be able to tell if I'm pregnant yet that day too? Thanks for all the help!

The clomid did not work for me...I was so disappointed! I do know there are many stories of it working for others though. I started the clomid after my 2nd m/c...the first and second months I was on 50, the third, fourth and fifth months I was on 100. I never went in for an ultrasound or did any bloodwork to see if I actually ovulated which I think I should have been monitored better. The last month I took clomid was either June or July so I think I can try it again but I don't know if it's worth it?! Somethings just don't work for some people, ya know?! I already have 2 children but got pregnant Jan.2006 and m/c, got pregnant again Sept. 2006 and m/c again and now haven't been able to get pregnant since! Good luck to you!

I got my period I think 10 days after I finished the Provera and then I started on the Clomid.  On the Provera I was fine but about five days after I finished taking them I had the worst PMS ever...the cramps and irritability...WOW, it was so bad.  I felt bad for the DH but I kept warning him I was in a bad mood.  Anyways...hope everything goes well for you!  Best Wishes!

I can't help you with the Provera thing because I have no experience with it, just clomid. Do you mind me asking who you are seeing for a specialist? I see you are from Marshfield and I am from Wausau! Actually Mosinee, I have seen an OB Dr. here but they have mentioned me seeing a specialist for more extensive treatment. Do you like the specialist? It's always good to hear personal experience stories from people! Thanks!

I have PCOS and my periods are VERY irregular..how long do you take provera, how many days? I had no side effects I took it for 5 days and within next five days AFTER my last Provera pill I got a period. On day 21, the RE will be able to tell you whether you O and got pregnant or not.
I took clomid 50, then 100, then 150 and I only O on 150 mg.
I hope this helps, if not, ask more:)
Anya.
