pregnancy and periods

If you have unprotected sex in the middle of your period what are the chances of getting pregnant? My boyfriend and I have been together 6 years. He and I are both virgins, because I wasn't ready and nor was he. We are in our 20's, so we are both consenting adults. He asked me about this and I didn't know what to tell him. First is it even safe to have intercourse on your period? And are there still chances of getting pregnant and what are the chances? I assume yes, you can still get pregnant. I will probably not do this because I'm still not ready very focused on college.  But I'm curious. Thank you to anyone who answers.

Thank you. So you're certain it's absolutely safe to have unprotected sex mind you we are both std free while on my period? That it won't lead to pregnancy?  Also have you done this? Did it hurt? With the bloatedness and cramping etc.

First I want to say, I'm glad to see young adults still staying to what they believe and not doing it cuz everyone else is. But no you can't get pregnant if you are on your period. And if you do have sex while on your period, it will feel the same but a lot messer cuz your dealing with blood everywhere. And no not everyone bleeds their first time having sex. It's normal between 10-16 days after you period when you can get pregnant.
