reasons for fertilization failure.

recent update in my case.....clomid didn't work on me at all. I was given 100 mg day 3-day 7
i was ovulating fine on my own. my doc expected i wud release 2 eggs instead of 1. that did not happen.
i released only one egg each month. i was on clomid for 2 months. this month my doc wants me to take a break from clomid and the injections, ultrasounds. i finally asked him what is happening. he said that the fertilization is not happening. but he does not know why? i am 30 my fsh is great. do you know the reasons why fertilization fails in human beings?

thanks a lot.

Ask your doctor about femara.  It is another medication that helps trigger ovulation.  It works better for some women and has less impact on cervical mucous.

You mean after the egg is released you did BD and it still didnt work? hope there are no sperm issues. and also hope you did aggressive BD during egg release. and your doc might have tracked when you are releasing and all that.

on clomid, you may release only 1 egg, but if you use some injectables such as gonal-F, you may release multiple eggs then,

or you could try IUI. if nothing works, only then we move on to IVF. meanwhile, i dont think it is easy to comment on fertilization.

good luck.
