The only thing that I have found that works is good old fashioned pain killers. Savella worked too but the side effects were too awful. Also, another thing that seems to help alot is Mila. It's a omega 3 powder that you mix in your drinks. You can google it. I just started back up on it a few days ago because I am in a bad flare-up so it should start working within a few weeks. ~Holly

Go to wikipedia. Find laudanum. Use sydenham's formula. Use crushed poppyseeds instead of main ingredient.

I found that warm showers and a heating pad helped a lot. I also would rotate my pain meds-take 1000mg of Tylenol and then 2-3 hours later take ibuprofen or naproxen sodium...take Tylenol again 6 hours after the first dose...

Effexor XR helped my sleep (and honeslty good sleep helps more than ANYTHING) and I had more energy (heh, I could get out of bed most days LOL). My pain was caused mostly by horrible muscle spasms and Skelaxin helped with that. I  also find that eating a healthy diet low in processed foods, no msg, lots of whole grains and fresh or fresh frozen vegatables and limited sugar (I use Splenda, aspartame gives me migraines) helps a lot.

Also, I stay on top of my thyroid. Thyroid issues can mimic FMS and can make things worse. I have mine checked a few times a year with a TSH test and have doc do a FULL thyroid panel at least once a year...My doc and I try to keep my TSH on the low end of normal by adjusting my Synthroid dose.

Another thing I did was see an allergist and take allergy shots to help lessen the reactivity of my body to all the stuff I am allergic to (if it is green and grows with sunlight and water I am VERY allergic to it)...that allowed my body to use it's limited energy for things other than going crazy over stupid pollen.

Each person is very different though. What worked for me may not work for you...Best of luck to you (((gentle hug))))

Have you consulted with your Rheumatologist?   Tylonel?

What works for one may not work for another. Just a thought, or two.
