Fibromyalgia is one of those diagnosis that lots of doctors around the entire world have trouble with. It involves aches and pains throughout the entire body usually but with specific tender spots like in the neck. Now, I have a neck point that is not fibromyalgia but rather just my tension spot as I call it that as the day builds, it will start to ache or if I'm stressed or fatigued. So, that is what is hard about fibromyalgia in that there are other reasons often for the same things. So, it is usually a combination of things that would result in the diagnosis.
But this type of pain is one of the key signs. Some people get fibro fog or kind of cloudy thinking, sleep disturbance, stomach issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, stiffness upon waking in the morning, restless leg, temperature sensitivity, painful periods, numbness/tingling in hands or feet, sensitivity to noise and light and headaches, lots and lots and LOTS of headaches.
So, it's the combination of these things that would result in a diagnosis as all of these things can happen indepently of fibro. The history of tender points in the body is pretty much a hallmark sign. Good luck and let us know how you are doing and how things turn out!
