From the description I read on Wikipedia, it sounded more directly associated with the anus than where I was feeling the pain. The pain was sort of the lower cheek region right near the outer edge of the actual pubic region. I just still have some finer long pubic hair there because of the hirsutism.
My guess is that this is still similar but not quite the same, unless that condition extends as far as where I'm describing. It's similar to that sensation we get when we don't want anyone to touch us at all because the mere touch is painful. And, only others with fibro or some condition with the cross over symptoms knows what this is like.
It definitely made sitting on the porcelain throne very, very uncomfortable, but sitting there couldn't be avoided, as you obviously know.
It's similar to when we get a high enough fever that the whole body feels like that and we have to go sit on the porcelain throne anyway. When that happens to me, I always dread sitting on the throne, because I always get this pain. This time, though, I didn't have a fever in the whole body, so that explanation doesn't really fit. Only the description does. Just talking about that is making me hurt all over. I know that this pain will at least change when I change activities.
I agree, though, that it has to be something neurological in nature. I just never had an episode last as long as it did this time around. It just wouldn't make sense to bring it up to a doctor unless it were to continue non stop or something, which must be how you found out what you were dealing with, with your own P.I.T.A. It's hard enough to get doctors to take us seriously, so I'm not going to a doctor unless I get more symptoms like this.
Sounds like it is in the anal region. yes?
From my experience, pain of that sort is neurological. I have a condition called Proctalgia Fugas.
This can offer surface to internal pain, pressure at times lessens it.
The internal, can cause a visceral episode of pain, fainting etc.
I guess looking it up may answer your question.
It has gotten the nickname P.I.T.A.
Get it...Pain In The A**
LOL
I seem to think there is a relation between the two, for me.
The one you experience, I can make it less intense by acupressure on the painful spot.
It's odd though, I find it hard to pinpoint the actual pain and where to press initially. I do eventually find it. There is at times almost a mildly anxious emotion pinned to the episode. Hard to explain. This makes me feel it is more neurological.
Take care.
