What is going on?

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to get some feedback on what you guys might think is wrong with me. Am I just a hypochondriac with bad anxiety? Or is this real? For that past year or two, my face and hands always feel hot! They feel like I have a permanent sunburn. I am also having bad acid reflux to the point where it feels like I am having a heart attack. Now, over the past few weeks I have a ton of joint pain (mostly my fingers and forearm) with random tingling in my fingertips or toes. I am getting muscle twitches all over (below left ribcage, left eye, shoulder, butt, etc) with occasional weakness in my left arm.

Also, my memory and sharpness is HORRIBLE. I have always been extremely quick, sharp and one of the best multi taskers around. I have my MBA, a good job and have never had problems thinking quickly or keeping focused when one of my employees is asking me a question, but for the past few months, I literally forget what I am saying in the middle of my sentence, forget what someone is asking me because I start drifting off thinking about something else. I am freaking out!!!!! What is wrong with me?

Now, I am worried I have MS, ALS, and a group of other horrible diseases.

Background info:

28 years old. Always been very athletic and healthy, but over the past few months I haven't worked out at all, I haven't been eating right for a while and don't drink much water. I definitely have some sort of anxiety that started about a year ago (not sure why) and I have an extremely stressful job. I get about 6 hours of sleep a night, work 10 hours per day. I have also been taking subutex for 7 years (broke up ribs and back in a bad accident and had to take pain killers for years, so this helped me get off, I am very close to being done and only take .5mg per day)

Same here.  Nasty stuff.  Suggest you make sure you find a Doctor who understands Fibromyalgia as some are still in the dark ages.  There is hope for relief but to date no cure. I have only joined up today but have put out several posts you may want to read regarding my own experiences and treatments that have worked over the last 12yrs.  Get back on water, healthy diet, better sleep and try for less stress.  Think your accident may have brought this on as this seems to be a theory believed by many.   Just getting some answers will be a relief.   Best of luck to you.

Hello. Same thing here. I was just diagnosed with fibro and I used to do martial arts. Now that's a memory. I had all the symptoms you listed in your original question. The above poster is right, it's very easy to diagnose. Definitely go see your dr. I start aquatic therapy soon to see if it'll help. Good luck!

I have had many similar symptoms and when I was 26 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am on pain med for it and anxiety med for my anxiety. My anxiety is well controlled but still a lot of pain and fatigue and fibrofog...the forgetfulness aspect of fibromyalgia.  It is easily diagnosed and worth talking to your dr about. I feel for you I used to be very athletic and active and now pain has taken that from me. Best of luck!
