This is my understand about the differences, in a simplified manner:

With CFS the largest complaint is debilitating fatigue; with FMS the largest complaint is with muscle pain.  If you have complaints with both, then I can understand your physician giving you the dx.  Most people who have either of these also have a multitude of overlapping conditions and symtoms.

They do not know what causes either, but it is thought to be induced by a virus, or with fibro, a traumatic experience.

I'm sorry that you have this dx.  We do understand what you are experiencing and the challenges it presents.

Please take care.

I'm sorry to hear about your CFS diagnosis. If you have CFS... you are going to be having constant flu-like symptoms, unrefreshing sleep, exhaustion and fatigue is going to be a major complaint.

I hope that you will check out our Health Pages on CFS (look to the upper right hand corner of your screen).

So how is your physician treating you ?
