drugs or fibromyalgia
I would like to know if doing so many different drugs even street drugs for so long cause pain to were you have fibromyalgia and need to keep taking prescribed drugs for the pain??

I am a mom, and was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia yesterday. I have been in pain for many months. My doctor does not know exactly what caused my FMS, she indicated it could have been the birth of my child march 2008... or the addition of PRESCIBED PSYCHOLOGICAL DRUGS last december. It is believed a traumatic/stressful event or illness can trigger FMS. Here are my and my husbands thoughts...
In december 2008 I began to feel very depressed and had a loss of concentration, and was really stuggling with daily life and work. I went to a psychiatrist, as depression runs in my family, and I had ADD as a child.
He prescribed me Lexapro, then in January put me on Vyvanse ( a stimulant used to treat ADD) in addtion to the Lexapro. I began to feel GREAT mentally. I was much happier.. eventhough my husband and I still had some MAJOR finacial problems, our relationship got much better. Work also was better, as I was much more productive thanks to the Vyvanse.
I have had a LOT of stress in my life, since I was ten years old, battled depression, overcame drug addictions as a teenager, was a single mother w/ no money and had an abusive boyfriend. ... I overcame all of those things in the past without PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. It was very hard, but I did it... This time however, I had more ppl to worry about then just myself.. so I got on the PSYCH MEDS, for my husbands and childrens sake... so I could be " INSTANTLY BETTER" - THAT WAS MY BIGGEST MISTAKE.
I TRUELY BELIEVE STARTING THE ANTIDEPRESSANTS AND STIMULANTS CAUSED MY FIBROMYALGIA.
It was in April 2009 when the Lexapro and Vyvanse lost their effect, and the doc upped my dose. Shortly after that I began feeling pain. my psychiatrist assured me the drugs did not have those kind of side effects.. and indicated I would feel very bad if i stopped them, as my body & brain is now dependent on them. So I continued to take them.. cuz I basically HAVE TO, or else I go crazy.
I went to over 10 doctors for all these aches and pains and fatigue... was tested for every possible disease out there.... And finally diagnosed with FIBROMYALGIA. The doctors told me it could have been triggered by my stressful finacial situation, and fights with my husband, and everyday stresses of being a young mom of 2.
Well that is BS. I have had worse stress in the past, and was always able to over come it. I really love my husband, he makes me so happy... my finances are better then they have ever been, I have job security, I love my kids,.. mentally I feel terrific. BUT NOW I HAVE CHRONIC PAIN. I BELIEVE THE MEDICATIONS DAMAGED MY BRAIN AND BODY PERMENETLY.

I would have to admit that I have been in such a "fog" lately that I have not been on this paticular site in awhile. I saw that your post wasn't answered and know that when you are feeling so horrible it is discouraging not to get any replies.
