Acid Reflux Oropharynx

About a week ago, I had a pretty big meal. I decided I want to hit the gym afterwards and I waited maybe 40-60 minutes before making my way to the gym. In between time I consumed a decent amount of water. I think warming up, I realized I didn't give my body enough time to digest and kind of threw up in my mouth. I later felt a kind of dryness in the back of my mouth or oropharynx and I think I may have burned the lining of it cause of the acid reflux. How long should this stuff take to heal?

First, let me THANK YOU for YOUR SERVICE to OUR COUNTRY !!!! I appreciate all  you and other enlisted do everyday.

Not being a Dr I am not sure the pics will be of help to me.....sorry.

Have you modified your diet and lifestyle to help with these symptoms?

If you drink coffee, soda, tea....stop...alcohol. stop....eat spicy , greasy, acidic foods..stop.....if you smoke, stop.....these all can add to the issue you are having as can any stress you are under so do try to relax....I know not easy with what you do day to day and where you are....but do try.

If you can elevate the head of your bed to help keep the acids from coming up into your throat...do that asap....and do not lay down at least 3 to 4 hours after eating....

Keep us posted on your progress.

I don't have access to a GI Dr because I am currently stationed overseas but sort of have a general physician or family doctor here. I went to him and he said he didn't see anything abnormal or out of the ordinary. This has now lasted about a month and I'm not really sure what this is. It's more like some bumps in the back of my throat or inflammation. I've taken some lansoprazole to see if it would help but it really didn't do much. I have to link to pictures of the back of my thoat below.

Hi Sage and welcome to the GERD forum.

Most Drs will RX a PPI like med to help heal this if it is in fact damage due to reflux...

Give yourself more time to allow foods to digest and lifting after a big meal is not ideal....

See your GI Dr and let us know your progress.
