Acid reflux and heart issues help

So i've been diagnosed with acid reflux. a few days ago i felt a strong palpitation in my chest and after that i was REALLY gassy. then a little later i had a weird feeling in my chest and i had pains in my shoulder, neck and back (where my heart is). then i went to the ER and they did an EKG and they said it was normal. then i tried holding my breath and after a few seconds my heart would start palpitating. it would keep doing that. it still does that and it feels really weird. today in the morning i got a stinging feeling where my heart is for a few minutes and it went away. now the area of my heart feels really weird. it feels like its beating irregularly and its gonna stop. i tried holding my breath jsut now and it started palpitating. also randomly during the day (more after meals) i would get chest pain and it would feel hard to breathe but i would keep burping and it goes away. my left shoulder, neck, and my back (where my heart is) hurt randomly. right now my heart keeps palpitating and it feels like its gonna stop. its really scary. i also get anxiety attacks so i get a lot of stress. so do i have a heart problem or is it all from acid reflux?

It may just be all due to the gas. I have acid reflux also and I get gas pains in my chest and back, making it hard to breathe sometimes. Consider seeing a cardiologist if it continues to worry you. I also experience heart palpitations and skipped beats and I honestly don't know if it is due to all the gas inside of me or my other illness that I have, called vasovagal syncope. The vagal nerve in the neck that controls the heart, stomach, and brain by sending signals. In mine it doesn't always send the correct signals my body needs when it comes to blood pressure and how fast/slow my heart needs to beat in certain situations. If I were you, I'd probably see a cardiologist just to be on the safe side and cancel out things.

Dang its been a while.. ever since I had that palpitation (it wasn't really a palpitation it was more like I had the wind knocked out of me and my heart was beating really light and fast and couldn't breathe until it was over) I've been getting shorter versions of it occasionally but I have had actual palpitations where I'm breathing fine but my heartbeat is all over the place. I've only had it a few times a week at most though. It happens a LOT more when I'm at a high altitude so there must be a connection..

I'm sure your pain is from acid reflux if you feel better after releasing gas. I still get chest pain and I can burp it out.

For anxiety you're just overreacting,  seriously.. I guess I kind of "grew out" of it, now I don't flip after the slightest twinge and think I'm gonna die from some disease (which is why there's hypochondriac in my username). It is very hard to calm down an anxiety attack, you have to take your mind off of it. What helped me a lot is weightlifting (more towards powerlifting), I'm a lot more confident and stronger, also it gave me a goal to look forward to. I did get anxiety attacks even during my workouts for the first month or so but I stopped paying attention to it eventually, and now what caused me to get anxiety attacks before don't affect me. Just find something you enjoy and make a goal you really want to reach

I really don't know about getting palpitations 3-4 times a day but I read that they are harmless.. honestly I think your ecg will always come out normal unless you get palpitations during the ecg

I have the same problem, I had it for 7 months now, it firsted started just like you have discribed, but in my case they called it acidity when too much acid builds up, then it gives me trouble breathing and heartburn. I have been on meds ever since and the problems gets better then other times, just watch your diet. But for me, the last 5 days it has been very bad, the meds are not helping, I went to ER 2 times, they said just watch what you eat and take meds, it will go back to some what normal. But Iam still having problems. Anybody got any suggestions, I have an appointment for a scope going down my throat to take a look at my stomach next month. Thanks
