Blood in Saliva

Hi,

I've been taking Omeprozole since discussing some on going issues with my GP, brownish saliva and some blood perhaps once a week. I went to see her initially because of a peculiar sensation behind sternum, like a pounding heart. I've had ECG and heart checks out, no flags following blood tests. I think she suspected it might be stress related. She also advised me to stop taking ibuprofen which she thought could be a reason for the blood.

6 weeks on,no ibuprofen - having switched to paracetamol - the pounding sensation seems to come and go, often following eating, but sometimes seemingly for no obvious reason. For several years now I either spit completely normal saliva, sometimes a little brown and then more alarmingly some blood. I do get alot of headaches, occasionally full on migraine. I've always been baffled by the fact that I get particularly bad headaches on a Saturday - which is when I tended to knock back the ibuprofen. The pattern then was have a headache on Saturday, take ibuprofen, blood in saliva on the Monday - rest of the week often a little brown discoloration or else fine.

I have had my teeth cleaned, gums have receded a little but otherwise no problems were noted. Today I tested the theory that perhaps the headache was the cause of the blood, this might actually be the case from what I've been observing, makes me wonder if it is sinus related.

Very hard to get through all these symptoms in the meagre 10 minutes I am allowed with my GP, just wondered if I could turbo boost this a little and maybe get a suggestion what I should focus on.

I personally am torn between this being an inflammation from the headache, or infection - I do sometimes get jaw/wisdom teeth pain that might suggest sinus problem, or I could just be getting blood from the gums - I wonder if these might be getting inflamed and then bleeding a little - there is some evidence for this, on such days, blood does indeed seem to come from the gum rather than anywhere more obvious.

For what its worth, I don't smoke, rarely drink, not the greatest or worst diet, reasonably well and quite able to take part in physical activities with my young kids though I am prone to bouts of fatigue. Have been dealing with some depression and anxiety - can't tell if this is because of health concerns or if the depression and anxiety has caused the health issues.

Sorry for huge list, I'm really not sure what is more relevant, looking for some direction or approach to take with GP.

Many thanks.
