Can GERD present with no pain?

MH3
For 2 years I have had symptoms I now believe to be GERD. I haven't seen a doctor because they haven't gotten worse.

I have the sensation of a lump in my throat, or a finger being lightly pressed against the outside of my throat. It gets better when I burp. Most of the time, this feeling is barely noticeable, if at all. The only reason I notice is because I try to. Sometimes it is worse, to the point that I notice it easily and it's bothersome, but that is sporadic, happening sometimes a few times a week or a few times a month. Rarely, it happens on several consecutive days.

The thing is, it's completely painless. Once a month or less, I will have a slightly sore throat, or my voice will get hoarse. I do sometimes cough, but only once or twice every few days.

Symptoms tend to be more consistently mild when I eat healthy and work out.

My question is, is this likely GERD, and if so, is it worth seeing a doctor about as long as symptoms don't get worse?

I forgot to add, there is no trouble swallowing. I eat perfectly fine and normally and take three pills every morning at the same time. Usually I swallow them all at once.

'Heartburn' is GERD with throat / upper chest pain. Not all GERD sufferers have heartburn. But if it gets worse and goes up to your teeth, you WILL feel it (especially at night, called silent relfux).

Inflamed thyroid (Hashimoto -hypo, Graves - hyper) can have a 'stuck in throat' feeling too. And GERD can be a symtpom of those.

People forget, and doctors ignore that GERD is a symptom of somthing else going wrong with the body. But many do not figure it out since we have slapped the term GERD on it and have acid reducing Proton Pump Inhibitor meds, that can in time, take your pancreas for a ride of its life. Thats why PPI's are for temp use only.

Next time you feel it, take a 1/2 table spoon of baking soda in water to see if it helps if you have too much acid.

If it dosent, then next time try a table spoon of apple cider vinager mixed with water to see if your to low in acid.

Low acid (from other issues like hypo thyroid) can cause GERD to , not just high acid, that surprises many.
