I'm only 14 could this be a disease?

Hi, I'm a 14 year old girl and I've been having this problem for at least a year now. First it was just this pain in my stomach where it would only hurt when I wake up, and wouldn't go away for an hour. But ever since a couple months ago it's been more. The stomach pain isn't as strong anymore but I have this weird feeling around my abdomen. It's not all over the area, just in the center. When it doesn't hurt it feels tight and shaky/bubbly. It would go away if I took 2 tums, but it comes back quicker than it goes away. Omeprazole 20mg barely helps. Also, I find it hard to eat in the morning, when the pain is most severe. So I usually just eat some bread or toast with milk. It's different everyday though. One day it won't go away for a couple hours and the next it goes away after I sit up for a few minutes and sip some ginger ale. Does anyone else have this feeling too? It's confusing because I'm so young and I have to suffer from something like this. I don't want it to go away for 20 minutes I want it gone forever.

I suspect I got GERD from overdoing abdominal crunches, which may have effected my spine. I have a mild spine ache directly at the back of solar plexus. But not sure. I think, the more you neglect it the more damage to the esophagus and the nerves thus preventing the splinter from closing. Or else, maybe you have a hiatus hernia which is effecting splinter function. Doctor will check it with Xray or barium swallow test, if no hernia or nothing to do with the spinal disks, then I think the problem maybe in the malfunctioning splinter only ( no spinal nerves involved ). Maybe it will cure after taking PPI medication to reduce acid and cure splinter tissue. I am trying out everything but nothing has worked for me though.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

My first question to you is have you had a chat with your parents about this and your Dr?

If not, start there as they are in a position to help you and find out what is really going on...at your age it could be a few different things going on....

Stress can make you feel worse, so do talk to your parents as they may be able to help you relax and know you will get help to feel better.
