GERD symptoms

In 2006 I went to the doctor for some issues I was having after being a volunteer for Hurricane Katrina, after many tests he discovered I had Helicobacter pylori infection and also developed GERD. Up to this point I did not have any symptoms for the GERD. I was prescribed drugs to get rid of the infection and Prevacid for the GERD. I took the Prevacide for about a year and  do not take it any more. I seem to have a sore  throat or  kinda of raw feeling and also it gets very dry  In my throat most days I do not feel heartburn. I also at times have a hard time swallowing hard food such as dry bread. My voice most of the time is ok but sometimes when I go to talk my voice catches in my throat and I feel the need to cough or drink something, I have also experienced that when I eat or drink my stomach bloats up and I feel like I have a large ball in my belly. And very recently when I lay down at night it feels like something is in my throat ad it is cutting off my air partially but if I sit up it goes away.  I plan on going to see my doctor for a check up but I just felt the need to ask for some information. You need to continue with prevacid.
Lifestyle modifications also is needed for bettr relief.
Lifestyle modifications -
1. Head elevation while sleeping
2. Small frequent meals
3. Going to bed 2- 3 hours after food
4. Avoiding bed time snacks
5. Avoiding smoking and alcohol
6. Avoiding tight fitting clothes
7. Avoiding cola, citrus drinks, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, spicy food
8. Weight reduction

You also need to confirm whether H.pylori has been completely eradicated. This can be done with either stool test or a breath test. I suspect H.pylori is still there which is causing the bloat and other abdominal symptoms.

it really sounds like acid reflux  i have not been treated for this but iam  sure i have it my  sister does and  she often complains  of  a big  ball  being  in  her stomach it really  *****  to feel  sick all the time  my  chest hurts with mine try otc prilosec
