Mild Reflux Oesophagitis Chronic Inactive Gastritis

I have been suffering acid reflux for 6 years.
Besides a higher level of anxiety and stress and obesity there was never a medical reason for my acid reflux.
Till now,
My acid was always contained to the stomach area and would reoccur every 4 days no matter what food I would eat.
Since then I have lost weight no longer obese now slightly over weight do not smoke.

Right now I have had an ultrasound, endoscopy, biopsy, blood tests, ECG, cancer screening markers the works, every test possible and I have a report which says;
Mid and Lower Mild Oesophagitis and Gastric says Chronic Inactive gastritis.
My treatment at the moment is 2 doses of Nexium 40 and 1 Tacidine Tazac tablet before bed and mylanta.
I have changed my diet to low fat and my treatments has been 1 week since.
I have not seen any improvement but i have seen yellow stool, burring in chest is persistent upon rising.

My questions are ;

Is it normal for this to continue to burn after so much treatment in a week
How long does this take to cure
What is the next form of treatment since this is failing thus far

i am not losing my mind because there is no mind to lose, but rather i am at a point where i have conceded defeat and just hoping, HOPING, that there is some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.

Is there any hope for me avoiding cancers, barretts, I am trying all recommendations and nothing is working.

I think you need to give treatment more time.  Keep in mind, you have had a lot of diagnostic tests, and only medicinal treatments, so you haven't really gone through much treatment.  You have had six years of discomfort, so you need to give meds a chance.  Take your meds exactly as prescribed, and certainly don't eat after dinner and going to bed.  Also, words like 'Mild' and 'Inactive' suggest you are a long, long way from Barretts.  I have Barretts and am checked every two years since a surgery, no advancement.  Also, the chance of getting an active cancer are something like 2% once diagnosed with advanced Barretts, a pre-cancer, if you change your lifestyle.  I'd relax, follow directions, and see if that helps.

Hi there,
Thank you for the response.
My concern is that I am not eating 3-4 hours before bed and still no response from the meds.
Is it possible that if you have that diagnosis that it may require the reflux oesophagitis time to heal??
That is the only logical (relaxed) conclusion I can come up with.
So the meds stop the acid but the body requires to heal perhaps?
